My mom was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 02/16 She was given Radiation and was to be followed by 4 sessions of Chemotherapy. Two days prior to her third session of chemotherapy she was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with CHF. They said she could not continue with Chemotherapy as it would kill her. Just 2 days ago she was given a stage 4 diagnosis of Liver and Lymph Node Metastatic Cancer. No treatments are available and she has chronic COPD as well as CHF. She just got released from hospital to hospice care and I'm looking to see what we can expect. She is not in any pain nor displays any signs of discomfort other than a swollen abdomen. The doctors are saying that 6 months is being very generous due to her other health issues. I'm going to be her primary care giver and she does not wish to know what the doctors are saying for life expectancy. She is upbeat and positive and its hard to believe the doctors are right. Just looking to keep things in perspective and looking to see what I should be expecting. I know that there are no treatment options available and looking to for her to have Quality of Life for whatever time she is with us. Thank you for reading this and I look forward to any comments. Just want to add that we are doing in home hospice care.

    Krackely,

I am sorry to hear about your mother. I can't help with your question, but I have been on these boards for a while. I think that you might find better responses if you post this in one of the threads under the Stage 4 topics.

Best to you and your family.

    Krackely,

So sorry about your mom. The stage 4 forum I'm sure will have many suggestions for you. Wish you, your mom and the whole family the best during this time.
