Any recommendations for Kaiser (Southern Caiffornia) surgeons?
I've done a lot of research but it's difficult get get detailed information from their bios (some provide it & some don't)--unlike in other areas--and you have to go through all the general surgeons and and read about the specialty which is a time-consuming pain, unlike like Northern California where they list the entire breast care staff at a particular location on the site.. I know there are only a handful of breast fellowship trained surgeons & some others that specialize without fellowship training. In Los Angeles County, there are several Nationally Accredited Breast Centers, including Harbor City, Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, Baldwin Park & Woodland Hills. It's hard, however, to get recommendations, so I'd love to hear about positive and negative experiences you may have had.
Thanks!

Dear Benaya,
Welcome to the BCO community. You might also try using the search function in the blue tool bar and put into parentheses"Southern California Surgeons". Such will offer other posts that contain the same words. It might be an easier way to connect with others. Let us know what we can do to help. The Mods

Hi Benaya,
Kaiser in Woodland Hills has a very good Breast Center. I absolutely adored my breast surgeon. She did a wonderful job. Her name is Dr. Tran. I highly recommend her. My Oncologist is also very good. Her name is Dr. Im. Call 818-719-3910 and ask for Dr. Tran. My name is Meighan Little if she wants to know how you found out about her.

Thanks so much for the recommendation, Meg!. I did some calling around yesterday & think I'll consult with 2 doctors at West L.A. first, since they too have an accredited breast center and are a little closer to me (although still far since I'm in Long Beach). If they don't work out, I'll definitely check out Dr. Tran. Was she assigned to you or recommended by someone? (I've been to Sunset & Harbor City already.) Good to hear you had such a positive experience there. BTW, did they have a "multidisciplinary" approach as required by the accrediting agency? Did you meet with specialists in all disciplines upfront or were you initially assigned only a surgeon and then an oncologist after surgery? Just curious. There are some locations in Northern CA, Oregon, etc., where you meet with all specialists in one day, including radiologist, etc. (which I think is a good approach), but I'm not sure if it's being done in So. Cal.
