Recommendation needed for TINY falsie

Options

hello - I’ve just got my first food, Ameona size 0. It’s a bit bigger than my remaining breast, since somehow having children melted my previously B cups away. I’m trying to acccept this foob as good enough but my four year old pointed at it tonight under my sweater and asked "why is that one bigger? "

Any suggestions for a company that makes a TINY foob?

Hi, GenevaC. My mom went flat for many years, but on the rare occasion when she wanted to wear a bra, she used a product known as a "chicken cutlet." They are like foobs, but very small, and are meant to be placed in a regular bra to give a bit more oomph to normal breasts. You could do a google search for them. Good luck!

Geneva, I’m in the same boat and have found two useful solutions- knitted knockers is a charity that makes fake knitted foobs for free for cancer patients. They are stuffed with poly fill and are left with a small opening in the back so you can adjust the size according to your need. I took a lot of fluff out! Also, I made two small homemade inserts using the extra fluff and some soft fabric triangles that I sewed together. Hope this helps!

I had to even out my small breasts after DIEP, as my left flap breast was much larger until revision. I found what is known as "chicken fillets" worked ok (popped up and out of my bra once at the gym - during step class and landed on the step!) and rather inexpensive to buy: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=chicken+fillet+bra+inserts

I had reconstruction but my upper poles are flat. They make hallowed out foobs. A good mastectomy shop could fit you so they are even and your insurance should cover it with a prescription from your breast surgeon.

I know that's not your first choice but it's a good option to balance out both sides.

For swimming they have microbead foobs that are quite light.

    In the summer

I also use a lined bra so that the padding isn't as obvious and use a thin foam shoulder pad from the sewing store. They have some that work pretty well.

As others suggested have used the cutlets but they are only half's and they do slide around.

I would think just getting a thin size zero hallow breast form for the other side would be easier. They have some very mastectomy bras so it would be just like wearing a padded bra. The forms don't quite match a breast so if you had a bit of padding on both sides it would look a bit more uniform.

There was a friend I know who is a uni and If your insurance is good they can even make a custom breast form to match the natural side.

also I think it's nordstorms ? Someone here mentioned that they can make any bra you buy there into a mastectomy bra? I have sewn a few of my own but would love that option .

The foam and the prosthetic are kind of hot in the summer I wanted to sew a microbead but couldn't find the beads. The mbead foobs are crazy expensive.

I haven't ordered breast forms online so can't offer advice but the knitted knockers look light and easy to use. I have even stuffed a lined bra with a soft cloth. I felt like I was in junior high though...

I took a lined bra and sewed a mastectomy pocket after that is was quite easy to get a nice look by adding some a simple foam breast form.

I use a silicone bra liner. It is like a so-called chicken cutlet, in that it is sold in bra shops and is meant to bump boobs up a cup. The difference is that it fills the entire bra-cup evenly. I use it with a large bra shield and it works fine for me, creating the equivalent of a small A-cup. Experiment a bit, and you will find a solution.

Another solution might be to make your own. Pretty sure I found this site with instructions and an adjustable pattern thanks to a post somewhere here on breastcancer.org - http://mastectomysolutions.com/sew-your-own-breast...

The XXS fits Size 30C, 32B, 34A, 36AA but you should be able to customize to your needs.

My new favorites are: Target Bra Inserts They are filled with oil and water and a little squishy, a little fuller on the bottom than the top. I use size a/b, turned upside down in my push-up bra and it fills out the top part of the cup. I use them in my bathing suits to help fill out the cups. They're pretty small so they don't go peeking around the bathing suit top.

Best of all, they're $5.99 for a pair. Nordstrom has them also but for a higher price.

Best of luck finding what works for you. I've got a drawer full of inserts/prosthetics and choose depending on my mood. It's fun being any size I want

    Hi Cpeachymom,

Interesting to hear that you made your own stuffed foobs. Would love for you to share how you came up with a pattern, fabric used, etc. I don't need much, just something to balance my profile.

    Thanks! Hogwarts

I’ve been using these bras since my mastectomy, they’re cheap, comfy and come with a wide band that doesn’t ride up. So, quite by accident when I washed this, the fabric covering the foam inserts came off in the wash. So now I had four silky triangles of fabric. I thought hmmm... maybe I can use these. I’m no great seamstress as you can tell, but I just sewed them together about a half inch from the edge, left a small opening for fluff, stuffed ( you can see the fluff inside because the fabric is thin and stretchy) and closed it up. They’re not fancy, but super comfy and easy to clean. I will have to replace the fluff at some point because it’s starting to ball up from being washed. Hope this helps! I’ll post pics
