My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer

It happened last Thursday, on February 22nd. I had just come from work and was sitting down in the kitchen table trying to rest my body from all the pain I was having. I had planned to see my primary doctor again about the pain in my hips and back. Trying to see if I had bone cancer or something that bizarre due to my low vitamin D problem. Fast forward to 5 minutes, and my dad tells me and my 4 other brothers to come and meet him and mom in their room, because mom had to tell us something important. My mom also called my sister on the phone so she can tell her what she has to say.

She then tells us all that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was shook and couldn't believe what I just heard. I tried to take a deep breath, but that only brought more pain to my left and right hips. I tried to cry, but that made the pain even worse and all I could do was lie down and tell myself how am I supposed to get better while trying to get my mom through this...

The doctor said this Tuesday, on February 22nd that they will tell her and my dad what type of stage she's in. I'm so scared right now because I remember last year at the end of 2017 that my mom was having some migraines and dizziness that was constantly bothering her. Any advice on this situation would be appreciated so much.

    Thank you.

A cancer diagnosis takes one's breath away. But be assured many breast cancers are treatable with a good prognosis for the future. The 1st step is possibly the hardest; wait for the diagnosis. The 2nd, plan treatment. We'll be here to help.

    Keep in touch

They said it's Stage 2 in between a&b and said it's around 2.8 centimeters. They said it hasn't spread to the lymph nodes so thank goodness for that. They also said shes going to have a consultation somewhere in March which I think is a bad idea since that feels too long... They further said after she has a consultation with her oncologist they'll move on to the chemotherapy. And they said that after she's done with the chemotherapy she'll have to choose one of the surgery options. Lumpectomy (In which they remove the lump) or Mesactomy ( in which they remove the entire breast). Or maybe they'll make the decision when she consults with  the oncologist....

Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated. Thank you.
