Core biopsy today
What a week! Had my yearly mammogram. They found a small mass in my left breast. I had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound yesterday. They said they were concerned. Today I had the biopsy. They took 5 samples. I find out Friday. I thought I was handling everything great until I went into to change and I seen the bandage. I just started sobbing. I guess this is all normal...

Sherryc66, so sorry you have an area in question. The biopsy is a sobering experience. It’s the beginning of the roller coaster ride. I pray your journey ends on Friday with a good report.
This website is a good place to come to get information and support. Check back and let us know your results.
Blessings...

I am sorry you’ve been thrust into this! I hope the results come back benign!

You are lucky to get followed up quickly. It has been 11 weeks since my first abnormal mammogram. Nine of those weeks were messing around with a local group that says they "are" affiliated with a big name cancer center, but that's a lie. Went to a different big name cancer center, they reviewed my scans in a week, then saw me in a week, then a week later took the biopsy. It is very good to have speed - maybe it is a bad sign, but I can't get those 6 weeks of messing around back if it is serious...
I think they took 5 samples from mine too. The biopsy was a weird experience, like not a surgery but sort of a surgery because everyone was in scrubs and it was really quiet.

hoping it is benign!!!!

Thanks! My ultrasound and second mammography came back as birad4. Tomorrow I should know something.
-
sorry that you had to wait so long! My BIrads from second mammography came back as a 4. I hope to have my answers tomorrow!
-
my core biopsy said fibrous tissue, but my images from mammogram and ultrasound the lump looked speculated/ IDC.
So today I had the lump removed and I wait for answers.

I had a lumpectomy on Monday. The doctor called today. She said I have IDC. I go into see her Friday. She did say I would need another surgery because the margins were not clear.
-
Sorry to hear that you're facing IDC and need another surgery. Hoping you can get it done soon and have an action plan in place.

I am also waiting along with you. Just joined the forum. Can't sleep, anxious to get results and then handle whatever comes my way. I suppose I am a better doer than waiter! Good luck with your results! 🤗
