MRI after TE???

So, I have an opportunity to get paid a ton of money for a medical study next week, BUT...it requires getting an MRI.

I've seen differing opinions on whether it's ok to get an MRI when you have a tissue expander...different studies say different things.

So I thought I'd come HERE and see..has anyone HAD an MRI, while having a tissue expander in place?? What happened?

Been looking up studies, and I've found several that suggest getting an MRI with a TE is safe.

Have you consulted your PS, and is the study sponsor aware that you have an expander? My concern would be that either your PS may not consent to your participation while under his/her care, and the study may exclude you if they are aware that you have an implanted medical device with a metal fill port. I was not permitted by any of my physicisns to have a MRI with an expander in, but it was a breast MRI.

I was not allowed to have an MRI with my expanders in. I was at the appt and I hadn't even thought I couldn't have one as the doctor who ordered it knew I had expanders. The tech came in and asked are you sure you have expanders in and not implnts🙄? I said yes I'm sure they are expanders and she left the room and came back with doctor a few minutes later and said they couldn't do it.

Swg, I had an MRI at Cornell Weil Hospital in NYC with a magnetic thingy in my TE. The doctors found that the prone position was best for this, and as long as the TE was full, there were little to no issues. My PS wrote an article about it. Let me see if I can find it.
