Hi Ladies, the mark on my breast is fading away slowly so I am pretty positive it is just post erythema. But I have also noticed I have large pores on one breast compared to the other. The other breast I can still see the pores but they are smaller. The derm who looked at my breast said it had no changes for peau d' orange. But isnt that what peau d' orange is? I am starting to freak out again thinking this is ibc. Does anyone else have more noticeable pores on one breast? Please help.

This is a photo up close of the open pores. Does this appear to be peau d' orange? My breasts are quite large at a dd but the pores are seriosuly causing me an anxiety attack.

No, that is not peak d' orange. That is a very normal looking breast

chelle, does it occur to you that you are seeking constant reassurance for normal breast changes from women who are battling, or have battled, ACTUAL cancer? Are you seriously determined that nothing but the rarest breast cancer will do? Does anything about that sound off to you?

I agree with mustlovepoodles. I'm awaiting a second biopsy this week to confirm that I only have ADH, and I constantly question myself about whether or not I really need to bother these women who are going through or have gone through cancer treatments.

You need to step back and address what is really causing this concern and anxiety.

To be clear, I don't think any of us minds answering questions or offering support. We KNOW how scary this can be. But it's disingenuous for us to keep engaging someone who has been told clearly by doctors who have actually seen them that they do not have cancer. By doing so, we risk fanning the flames of their health anxiety.

My apologies - I hope I didn't come off that I felt like anyone hasn't been supportive!

I agree with mustlovepoodles. One of my pet peeves is to see those with health anxiety be coddled. I have seen the effects of this and it is frightening. They need to be led to appropriate help and BCO needs to be firmer about this.

Yesterday my left breast, the one I had the lumpectomy in, was swollen, red, warm to the touch, extremely painful, skin was bruised and looked like an orange. It hurt to walk, any jarring motion was painful. I went to the Dr today. She diagnosed mastitis, ordered antibiotics and an ultrasound to determine if there was an abcess. Unfortunately I looked up mastitis and saw the symptoms for inflammatory breast cancer. It said the difference is mastitis usually includes fever. I'm post menopausal so mastitis seems an odd thing to get. So I'm starting to panic a little. Hoping the antibiotics kick in and it's just an infection. Anyone else have this experience?

SJI, antibiotics would be the first line of treatment before a biopsy, so why not complete the course and see what happens. If there's no change I'd request an urgent referral to your oncologist so that you get a proper diagnosis and, if necessary, get started on treatment if it turns out to be IBC.

SJI, it wouldn't hurt to see your oncologist now and ask him/her to take a look.

    How are things looking today?
