3D Nipple Tattooing

I had a bilateral Mastectomy and Chemo in 2009 and Latt Flap reconstruction with silicone implants in 2010. I would like to have 3D nipple and areola tattoos done. I would just like to feel normal again. My my PS did 2D tattoos in 2010 they are pale, flat and don't look real. I live on an Island off the coast of Alaska and I will need to fly somewhere to have them done. So, location isn't a factor. Quality, professionalism and hygiene are most important to me.

Can anyone recommend a professional that has experience with permanent 3D nipple tattoos? (I'm not interested in makeup/cosmetic grade tattoos.) I would really appreciate any feedback/information from anyone that has had this done or can make recommendations.

I flew to Baltimore to get mine done at Vinnie Myer's shop. Best decision I've made. Still look great after four+ years. He has trained others in his shop and they have great reviews too. I see they are booking now for a Dallas trip in Feb.

I had my 3D tattoos done 3 days ago by Vinnie Myers. Flew into BWI. Easy to find. Clean. Staff is professional and sweet. Vinnie Myers does beautiful tattoos. And he is a really nice person. It was the exclamation point on a long, hard road. A perfect finish. Lark

Dermigraphics, LLC in Portland OR. Mary Jane is one of the best in the country and can bill insurance in some plans. It takes months to get an appt with her. She is booked many months in advance. I am scheduled (as of today) to begin this process June 22. Since you are in Alaska flights to Portland are easy on Alaska Airlines.

My husband, Paul Bessette, works for the Vinnie Myers Team (VMT), just outside of Baltimore. Paul has been tattooing for 22 years. The VMT is regarded as the best in the world. Women fly from all over the world to get tattooed by them.

It is worth the trip. Paul is an experienced tattooer and has been tattooing nipples for years now. He is professional and compassionate. He can relate to the women because I had breast cancer too. So, he lives it!...at work and at home. And he is truly amazing.

Women he has tattooed send him the most beautiful messages of gratitude, not only for the beautiful, realistic nipple tattooes, but for his warm and professional manner. He really takes the time to make the client feel comfortable and afterwards, to celebrate the end of their cancer journey. Many times it brings me to tears!

Paul and his partner, Trent, have started traveling to cities, so women don't have to spend money on airfare and hotels. For now they also tattoo in Boston, MA, as well as Dallas and Austin, TX. They are looking into other cities, but the start up is a long process. For now, your best bet is their shop outside of Baltimore. You don't have to go into the city. Simply fly to BWI and drive west 20 minutes to rural Finksburg, MD.

Honestly, Paul is compassionate and understanding. He has been so supportive of me as we journeyed through my own breast cancer together. I am so lucky.

Has anyone on this board had nipples done at Dragonfly Ink in San Francisco? They seem to specialize in it, and the pictures on their website look good, but I would like some first-hand accounts. I'm a few months still from being ready for tattooing, but it's never too soon to start gathering information. Feel free to PM me if you don't feel comfortable sharing here.

Erik Eye did mine and I'm very happy with them. He was very caring and I felt comfortable with the privacy in the studioand how much input he let me give about how I wanted them to look.
