edited February 2018 in Waiting for Test Results

Hello I’m 24. When I was about 22 I found a small lump a few days before my period. went to my doctor on campus and she wasnt worried about it due to the size and the fact it could be moved. It started to grow overtime only hurting around my period or if I had heavy amounts of caffeine. I took my nipple ring out and while the lump grew my nipple began being pulled inward.

I went to see a doctor and they ordered a mammogram and ultrasound. A 4.73x2.77x5.45 cm mass was found. Swollen lymph’s as well. This has I’ll defined margins with punctuate microcalcificarions within. Highly suspicious for malignancy. Bi-rad 5

I was thinking it could be a fibroaderma. Because I got these results in less than 5 minutes.

I go in for a biopsy this Friday. But I’m very nervous. I really am hoping for the best but it’s not looking too good. I haven’t had the chance to live.

Has anyone had this sort of issue and it has turned out not to be cancer. Or if it was cancer is this something that sounds familiar. Anything to help me worry less please. Thank you.

It’s very hard not to be anxious. Maybe your gp could give you a a little medication. Remember your age is in your favor. Not all Birad 5 are cancer. There will be someone along that knows the statistics.

Be proud that you are following up With your fear

((((Imisfit))) Indeed, you should be very proud of yourself for following up, despite fear.

We agree, that you may want to talk with your GP about some meds to help you manage your anxieties while you are going through this, and for the biopsy. Try, if possible, to distract yourselves during this very uncomfortable waiting period. Get out, and stay active.

We're all here for you and routing for all to be benign.

Did you mean "ill-defined" margins? Does your report say anything else?

Do get some meds from your GP to help with the anxiety.

Yes, occasionally (5% of birad5 are not cancer) a woman who has been given a BIRAD5 ends up with a benign results. Things like fat necrosis or a radial scar can mimic cancer on imagining, so hang on to that.

In the mean time STAY OFF OF GOOGLE. At this point you really don't know exactly what is going on, and until you have actual facts, the internet is not your friend.

thank you all! I’m such a nervous wreck. I have been on google. I can’t help it. I’m just so scared and this is my first time dealing with something like this and my parents aren’t in the states so that’s even harder for me. If anyone wants to take a look at my results and maybe give feedback a PM would be nice thank you ladies
