Some advice please

Options

Hi. This is my first post. It's been 8 years since surgery and radiotherapy.

3 weeks ago, I started getting pain in my elbow consistently. Before that, it was off and on. I have had some chest pain in my back over the past year. I have been super tired lately and struggling to keep up in my work etc. I have had quite a few infections this past year. I have been off my food too since I got Crypto in my tummy.

About 3 weeks ago, I started getting pins and needles badly in my left arm/hand. Then it got worse and my arm and hand felt numb. Upper back pain also. The tingling is now also in my right arm.

I had blood tests this week. Protein is at 9 but has been high for a while. GP sent me for an xray which says disc height reduced in C5/6 and C6/7 with some osteaphytes and calcification anterior. Also some minor scoliosis.

No evidence of metastasis or reason for nerve symptoms.

So - I guess I am just going nuts and my symptoms are psychological? Should I leave it now? Is X-ray enough? I am crying because I don't want to live with this any more but it seems there is no reason for it.

Any advice would be welcome.

I would contact your PCP and ask for a referral for an EMG. That is a nerve conduction study. Cubital tunnel syndrome causes elbow pain and numbness in your hand (pinky side) and can cause long term weakness in the hand if not treated. The EMG should isolate exactly where the nerve problem is originating.

    Well it wasn’t nerves. :(

X-ray of elbow shows bone Mets.

    Thank you for replying.

I'm sorry that waa the outcome. Have they decided to do a biopsy to check for hormone markers? Do you have a treatment plan decided?

So sorry for this result but am glad you pursued the reason for your symptoms.  What is your doc saying in terms of treatment? Sending hugs to you!

So sorry to hear that. Hoping they can get a biopsy to confirm hormone status (it can change) and get a treatment plan in place.

I am glad you pursued getting answers, but hate what those answers turned out to be. Keep us posted on how things are going. Thinkingnofbyou
