To biopsy or not to biopsy

I had a screening mammogram and a diagnostic mammogram that showed microcalcifications. The radiologist initially labeled it a BIRAD 3 (repeat mammogram in 6 mos.), but called me later in the day and said after further review he changed it to BIRAD 4B (get a biopsy). When I went to the local hospital to schedule the biopsy, their radiologist said it was a BIRAD 3 and didn't recommend a biopsy, but that it was my decision. I don't know what to do. My gut feeling is to err on the side of caution and have the biopsy, especially since my original radiologist is very highly regarded and I've been going there for my mammogram for 20 years. Thoughts on this please?

I’m a ‘better safe than sorry’ kind of girl. I’d get a definitive answer with biopsy vs let’s wait and see if it grows. If it grows and is later biopsied and they find cancer you’ll be kicking yourself in the rear for it forever more. Biopsy now and get peace of mind today,

I'm with Lula. A biopsy is slightly painful, but not too bad at all. I'd go ahead and get it just to be sure.

Get the biopsy.  Especially since one suggested it. you do not want to be kicking yourself later if you waited and it is positive!  Better to catch it earlier than later.

Thanks for the replies! As I was typing my post, I realized I had pretty much made up my mind, but I feel so much more confidant in my decision to get the biopsy after hearing your responses.
