edited February 2018 in Waiting for Test Results

Hello all, I had posted here recently and just wanted to share my results for anyone with a similar process. I went in for a screening mammogram (I was a bit late, I'll be 42 in a couple of weeks) but have had mammograms and ultrasounds in the past for various things. I was called back for what they called a focal nodule asymmetry. Waiting for the diagnostic mammogram was the worst! I had it, and they still saw the mass so onto US I went. They said it was a 12mm x 6mm x 10mm mass (I think). The radiologist wasn't "super concerned" but was able to tell it wasn't a cyst so it needed to be biopsied.

Got in for the biopsy a week later, which was relatively painless, and just got my results today - a fibroadenoma. I wanted to share because I'm another person with this benign result who isn't in the most common age group for it. Maybe I've had it for awhile? I'm not sure. But I was worried that it wouldn't be this because I'm a bit older. So hopefully this is reassuring news for anyone with a similar issue.

This is a great community and I'm so glad I was able to post here while I was waiting. Thank you everyone, and I'm hoping for the best news for us all, today and in the future.
