Request for arm sleeve for flying

I brought up my concern to the surgeon today. He said I don't need it and didn't really offer a reason why. I have a seroma in my arm pit (was drained today, but filled up again). I don't want to get lymphadema or increase the size of the seromas if not flat before I fly in early summer. I don't see how wearing one could hurt. I wonder if I should pursue on my own.
