So about a month or two ago i felt a lump on my right breast and it was kinda small then within a few days it got bigger then it got smaller again. It is still there but small now. Then i started getting rash patches around both my breasts, nothing near the nipple. But my nipple is the most itchy area. The nipple area is extremly itchy which it has barley ever been like that before! The rashes on the breast are red and the skin is kinda flakey type. But there are quite a few patches and i tried using ointment but it's not going away. I tried googling it and found that breast rashes and a lump could be cancer. I did go to my doctor for the lump (the rashes did not exist that time i believe) but she just told me to go get a memo gram and i have not gone yet. But the rashes are scaring me now even though the lump is small and almost gone. I am 22 years old and i have been a little sexually active but i am still a virgin (idk if that matters). No kind of discharge from the breasts. Never had any kind of discharge, haven't even breast fed ever (idk if that matters) Also i don't think i have much of a family history of breast cancer but my grandma did have cervical cancer.

    You should see your doctor for your skin issue and itchiness for the proper treatment to clear them up. Rashes on both breasts at 22 sound nothing whatsoever likely to be anything related to breast cancer.

    As to your little lump that shrinks and grows, probably with your cycle, you should follow up with your appointment, likely for an ultrasound, not a mammogram at your age. Benign lumpy issues are very common in teens and young women.

    Sexual activity and being a virgin has no bearing on any of this.

    I agree with everything Melissa said. Since you are so young and you feel the lump, I'm not sure why your doctor would send you for a mammo as opposed to an ultra sound. You might want to ask the doctor this. When you talk to your doctor about the mammo vs ultrasound also bring up the rash on your breast. If you are stressed and obsessively checking/ or touching your breast you could be irritating your skin, or stress itself can cause a rash.

    Definitely get the mammo or ultrasound as soon as you can to be safe about the lump.
