What did your doctor say after surgery?

Surgery for excisional biopsy was yesterday... I'm in the tortuous wait for results now. Curious if surgeons can tell much from what the pull out during surgery? My doc told my husband she was "optimistic" after surgery yesterday - does that mean she can tell it's not cancer? Does she really have no idea & is just guessing? Just curious what other peoples' docs said post-surgery (yes, i'm overthinking & just need to wait for the results... but just humor me :P ) . I'm not a patient patient :P

I had mine today. All my husband remembers the doctor saying was that everything went well. Who knows what he really said...LOL. I will find out on Monday at my spot op.

I don't think that the doctors like to say too much right after surgery since they don't have the results and they don't want to upset us while we are still groggy from surgery. Keep us posted on your results and good luck

I had my lumpectomy on a Thursday, They took the lump and 2 nodes. Told my husband they were negative. Got sent home that evening. Got the full report (margins, etc.) on the following Monday. The reason they said negative while I was still in the hospital is because they sent samples to pathology to see if they had to take more nodes.

Not the same as what you had...just my story.
