Just had my second chemo treatment on Monday. I've never been so miserable. I really don't think that I can do 5 months of this.

Ah Brock - I’m sorry you are having such a hard time. I won’t lie to you and say it will get better, because I do t know that. I will say that going on the chemo threads can really help, because no matter what the SE someone has had it and might be able to help you.

I cried, raged, felt self pity and was really afraid on and off during this horrible experience- still doing it. Trust that you are not alone and there is no judgment here.

I finished chemo 12/21/17. Ringing that bell was sweet. Doing rads now - 18/31 done. You can do it and you will do it because you’re a fighter and you know it’s what you must do. It sucks, it isn’t fair and it is sad - but we aren’t alone.

If you have any specific issues, let us know. From one TN to another, hang in there.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. No doubt about it chemo sucks. What's your treatment plan? I did 4 rounds of AC followed by 12 of taxol. I finished December 5th. I still get tired easily but I'm feeling good now. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I felt more normal on taxol. AC knocked me out. I saw a naturopathic doctor that really helped manage my SE. There are many supplements that can help. I hope it gets better for you very soon.

Brock- I second everything VL22 said. This is a tough road but know you aren't alone in your feelings. I finished chemo two weeks ago and I'm dealing with side effects and preparing for radiation all at once. Allow yourself to be sad, mad, afraid ... all the things. Then just pull yourself up. It's what we must do. I'm not saying chemo gets easier but I can say like you I thought I could not do it. Five months later and I'm still surprised that I did. For TNs chemo is the main line of defense. Just remember you are not alone. Make certain to join the February chemo thread. Check out the chemo threads in general. Ask questions and we will do our best to help.
