Waiting for surgery-->lumpectomy

Once you've made your decisions, then you have to trust your surgical team and let it go. Do as many distracting things that you can; catch up on cleaning, errands, cook & freeze food, go to a funny movie, play with a pet and/or a kid, go for a walk, exercise class, take a sleeping pill......whatever it takes to get you through......hang in there!

Linda, surgery day is really long, but less painful and MUCH more boring than you might imagine since you'll be waiting around a lot. So just picture yourself reading magazines, doing crossword puzzles, etc. and pack a nice shawl and some things to read. We'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

I was under general, but that was 11 years ago so things might have changed.
