I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago due to a lump in my underarm, the lump has been there since January 14 and I still have it! I did go to see a doctor but she just felt around and told me not to be concerned that it's totally normal and sent me on my way, no antibiotics or anything. What I'm wondering is have any of you guys had a persistent swollen node with nothing to worry about? I'm very worried cus it doesn't seem to be going down and I'm not sure to get a second opinion

Do you believe it is related to a problem with your breast(s)?

i believe so, I'm not entirely sure I've never had such thing happen to me before! Just looking for some guidance as to what to do about this issue I've done BSE over the past few weeks and feel nothing abnormal in my breasts they're so lumpy either way I wouldn't be able to tell if anything is out of the ordinary I apologize on original post I had a typo “nose” I meant “node”

If you are not having breast symptoms it might be worthwhile going back to your PCP first for a complete physical exam, some blood work and an order for a mammogram and an ultrasound.

There are many more things besides the breast that can cause enlarged lymph nodes, some local, and some systemic especially if they can be found in more than one location.

Keep us in the loop and if it turns out to be breast related, maybe we can help.

To djmammo: I recently had a biopsy for Paget's which was negative. An ultrasound and mammogram were done beforehand at my local women's center, the report was negative. Then I went to a breast cancer surgeon at a large hospital for the biopsy, and I gave her the cd of my screenings. One day after calling me w/ biopsy results, she called back today to say that the radiologist there had not signed off on my case before she called me. His report states that I have slightly enlarged lymph nodes (not sure if this was on the mammogram or the u.s.) He is recommending that I have a repeat of both tests. Now I am more freaked out than I was when I thought I had PD. Are they being super cautious or should I be worried? Can I take any comfort in the fact that the first radiologist did not address nodes? thanks~
