Saying prayers for you as well, Elijahgirl!

I found out my results - biopsy came back benign!!! It showed a radial scar and either atypical ductal hyperplasia or atypical lobular hyperplasia (I can't remember what the nurse said...should have written it down), and my surgeon does want to have it removed. So I meet with her on Monday to go over next steps.
-
Great news that it is B9!!!! I'm sorry that you will need to have surgery but is for the best. Hopefully afterwards you will be able to put it in the past and enjoy the rest of this new year without the stress of the unknown. Good luck Monday.
-
Thank you! I'm glad my doctor wants it removed...less to worry about down the road
-
That’s great news! I was also diagnosed with ADH on my stereo biopsy. I just had my excisional biopsy today. Did your doctor talk to you about Tamoxifen at all Mine said if nothing else is found on today’s biopsy, he’d like me to start it. I’m on the fence about it though. Again, congratulations on the benign findings!
-
Thanks teachermomfl! I hope you’re recovering well
. I’m going to ask my doctor what the recommendation is once I have this removed.

momto3sons,
Congratulations on your B9 results, have you any thoughts on what type of surgical procedure you might have? Also have you had any genetic testing as well? I am CHEK 2 positive which means both my Daughter and Son have a 50% chance of being positive as well.
-
Thanks Elijahgirl!
I honestly have no idea about the surgery. I’m assuming it would just be like a lumpectomy. I’ll ask the doctor about genetic testing at my appointment
-
Please do it could make a big difference in your decision, I have already decided that based on my family history and my CHEk2 mutation I am going to have a BMX regardless of my biopsy results. This whole BIRADS 4 mass hits tooclose for me to take any chances.
-
I definitely will bring it up. Thanks for the info

B9! I have Intraductal papilloma & Focal usual ductal hyperplasia this however carries a increase risk for breast cancer. I was able to pull up the pathology report off the Pt Portal, I will be meeting with the surgeon this afternoon
-
That's great news!!! Let us know how the appointment goes this afternoon.
I'm scheduled for the excisional biopsy on 2/22. The follow-up appointment with my BS went well. She said the radial scar and ADH is just 2 mm, so it's pretty tiny. At this point she doesn't feel like I need to start on Tamoxifen, but we can reevaluate if the biopsy comes back with anything more serious.
