    mbryant,

do you live in a state in which medicinal MJ is available? The strains of cannabis that are most effective for pain, nausea, and other side effects of treatments, are generally bred to have low levels of THC (which is what makes you "high") and high levels of CBD, which is the component of cannabis that is associated with more medicinal properties. I have read that it has cancer-killing properties, but there have been no studies of it to see if that is true. Proponents of weed swear it cures everything from pain to toe nail fungus, and Jeff Sessions swears it is a gateway drug to heroin. Unfortunately, because it is still a schedule 1 drug, there is very little research on it going on. There is, however, no shortage of information on the internet, most coming from people with an agenda for or against it. It's a shame the government doesn't get over it's "reefer madness" and allow it to be studied properly. Personally, I think it holds great promise for treating a variety of illnesses.

Definitely get a professional opinion and keep in mind that high THC is not recommended in estrogen positive cancer. It can fuel it!

There are Facebook groups about breast cancer and cannabis use and there are many kinds of cbd oils out there - and most won’t do anything beneficial for cancer cells but some might.

I find that cannabis helps with the nausea from chemo better than any prescribed drug - even just the stuff from the guy on the corner. I’d much rather be high and not nauseous than feel that horrid post chemo illness.

    Hi mbryant,

There's a pretty active thread here in the Complementary forum on this topic. Check it out.
