edited February 2018 in DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ)

I was diagnosed with 1,5 mm high grade Dcis in November last year and I am waiting the re-excision for 1 mm margin. After this re-excision with wider margins I think I will be done with the treatment. I don't want to take radiation and tamoxifen (my dcis is Es 10% and Pr 0% and Her2 +++ ) because of the side effects.

I am still concerned about this and I would be grateful if you will support me with your experiencies.

I am also so scared reading on this forum about some cases of Dcis that had spread outside the breast after several years of the first diagnosis

    Good morning. If you are worried about a recurrence and mestasis outside of the breast, I would really advise you to consider radiation and anti-hormone therapy. I was afraid of both initially but my side effects were minimal and my peace of mind is so much better. Maybe let us know what your fears are and others can chime in to help. And/or get a second opinion because of your ER and HER scores from a second oncologist.

    Thank you so much Georgia1. I think the recurrence rate is quite small because the Dcis is 1,5 mm and I am postmenopausal.
