Radiation has shrunk one of my breasts and had a reduction done on the other to match it - now I am barely a B cup. I am plus size so I think that makes it worse. I have seen a few discussions that they will not do implants on radiated breasts. Not sure that is what I want to do anyway but just curious about all my options I guess

typically radiated skin does not do well with implants. However, a natural tissue recon may work for you. They take tissue from your tummy or back of your hips and transplant it to your breasts. I had it done from tummy and am very happy.

I had fat grafting first to help improve/reverse the radiation fibrosis I had. Then I had a new TE put in and then 6 months later had an Mentor 495cc Anatomical Silicone Implant put in OVER my Pectoral muscle. That type of method is called Prepectoral Implant Reconstruction and I started a thread about it which has several other women who also had thst method of Reconstruction following Rads.

Sop on by and meet these wonderful women.
