ER/PR+, stopped birth control pill, no period since I stopped...

I am 49 and was diagnosed with ER+/PR+ DCIS in early November. My gynecologist told me to stop taking my birth control pill, which I’ve been on since I was 19. I have not had a period since I stopped inmid-Nov. Has anyone else had this experience, and if so, how long did it take for your period to resume after stopping the pill? Also considering that maybe the pill was masking peri-menopause? Too many variables, and I haven’t even started tamoxifen yet!

Hi there Lori,
I was 41 when diagnosed with the same in March 2017. I was also on the Pill, had to go off it immediately.
I had gone back on the Pill again at 40, because my more frequent periods were causing me nausea and diarrhea.
Once I started Tamoxifen, my periods became regular 28 days and now they have become about every 30 days. -

Finally got it! I guess my body needed to adjust to the lack of estrogen.
