Sometimes nurseries call them Flowering Maple. Not sure why, but also look for that name tag. They are really pretty.

Paulette, I responded to your search and said GOOD JOB but it obviously never actually posted. Wren, that sounds sounds sort of familiar. I wonder if I ran across that after Paulette ID'd it.
Lisa, I could use lunch by a beach about now! I am ready for spring and it is way too early for spring fever.
-
Paulette, your tiger eye flower motivated me to visit this orchid nursery yesterday. Look what I saw sitting right at the entryway. Hope your skin is recovering and you are feeling better.
-
Nancy .... all these orchids are so pretty! Love them all. I’m only using my iPhone to take picture nowadays getting lazy.
-
I took these 4 years ago but a blood moon is coming up again 31 January.
-
Thank you Paulette. Phones can take some awesome pics.
Lisa, that is a remarkable collage. I attempted some blood moon pics when I didn't have a clue what I was doing. It was NOT an easy task so I can appreciate these fantastic pics even more.
This moon coming up is a super, blue and blood moon all rolled into one. Unfortunately I will not be home to photograph it. I will be back downstate taking care of business since my mom moved into an assisted living facility a few weeks ago.
I won our newspaper contest with one of my photos I just found out as I opened the paper today. I win some money with this which is nice.
-
Bandwoman, Congratulations! It's always nice to have someone else think it's a great photo and the money just makes it more so.
Going to be raining here Jan 31, so enjoy the moon and take photos if you can. We have about a 1% chance of being able to see it.
-
Let’s show off some pretty flowers ..... here is the winter blooms
-
Thanks Wren. It is nice to share photos and nice when one gets recognized.
Paulette, lovely photo collage. Which software are you using for that.
-
Nancy, the hard part of the moon pix was getting a focus when the moon was dark. Congratulations for your picture. ❤

The hard part for me is after my neck surgery my neck has never been the same and it just killed my neck as I believe I took pics over a few hours when taking a blood moon a couple years ago. I didn't have my long lens at the time but I don't think we will get a good chance to see it here and I will not have time anyway since I will have just gotten to my mom's house.
Thanks, Lisa.

Nancy I used LiPix App for the collage. It is easy for me to use.

Thanks Paulette. I am not familiar with that app.

-
Beautiful Lotus flowers and reflections Lisa.

I said I wouldn't do it, but I did. Got a SLR camera.not an expensive one. I got fed up when my camera wouldn't do what I wanted to. So I have to see how this goes.

back when we had a chat room here, we were waiting for her to be born
-
Your grand daughter looks like she means business at the plate. She looks like she could knock one out of the park! Did you take this with your new camera? What kind did you get?
-
used my old camera, better optical zoom as I was taking it from the center field fence. Not really much of a distance MY SX 60 has 60 times optical.
I got an Inexpensive SLR Canon with 2 lenses. I just wanted to fool around with the settings and I couldn't really see them on my sx60. I got fed up when I was trying to use the manual focus set to infinity to take photos of the moon. I tried the zoom on the SLR for the softball but it didn't get in close enough. We shall see. Can you shut off the shutter sound on a SLR?
