WORRIED ABOUT HAIR LOSS ON FEMARA

Hi everyone, I'm back.

My mom is due to start Femara in a couple of weeks. Her oncologist warned her about all the side effects and told her if she had extreme muscle pain she would pull her off of it and start her on something else. We also learned that that all AIs cause hair loss. How severe is the hair loss and is there anything suggestions of what she can do to combat it. The thing is, she went through 9 rounds of Taxol and did cold caps and special treatments so she managed to keep about 75 percent of her hair. Since July (which was her last treatment), most of her hair has grown back in and it's thickened back up. She was able to dye it for the first time yesterday! I know this sounds kind of vain but we worked so hard so she could keep her hair, her hair is really important to her and I'd hate to think she will lose it all again on this drug. Any advice? Thank you.

I've been on Femara since March 2016. I haven't noticed any hair loss or muscle pain. I had some arthritis prior to starting Femara, but that has not worsened. Frankly, my Femara experience has been a non-event
