Need Recommendations for Second Opinion near Grand Rapids MI

Options

My best friend has decided to seek a 2nd opinion after being told she has exhausted all treatments and has been referred to hospice. She is ER, PR+ HER2- with mets to the liver, bone and lymph nodes. It is the liver mets that have not responded to treatments and the last course of chemo has comprised her liver function. I've read a few encouraging stories regarding liver regeneration and she is willing and able at this time to get another opinion.

If anyone can suggest a center/oncologist in the Grand Rapids/Muskegon area, it would be appreciated.

Thank you so much and my gratitude and support to all of you!

Have you investigated either U of Michigan or Karmanos in Detroit? Both of those can help enroll in clinical trials.

Also could head towards Chicago/Northwestern hospital downtown.

    Good luck.

I would also recommend U of M or Karmanos, I went to both for second opinions. I live in Grand Rapids and my MO is Dr. VanderWoude through Spectrum Health. I really like her, but I have traveled to other places for treatment (M.D. Anderson for radiation and plan to begin a trial in July at MSK). We have ok doctors here, just not a lot of access to clinical trials which is why U of M or Karmanos might be better.
