Hello I am also a plus size woman and living in Spokane my BMI is above 40 and I was told that no plastic surgeon would even talk to me until my BMI is below 40. So I was just wondering who is your plastic surgeon and maybe I should get more opinions
-
yes my surgical oncologist said that no plastic surgeon will talk to me and tell my BMI is below 40. So I will be doing a BMX with no reconstruction at this time

Hi, I have same issues. 5'5" and about 285lbs. My implants we're saline which I hated, wanted silicone but they didn't go as large as I wanted. Very disappointed. My brother-in-law made a rude comment about looked like boy boobs! My left implant began moving to left and downward because skin and muscle to thin to hold, due to radiation treatment. My pastic surgeon referred me to his partner who is part of Mentor implant study for 1400cc implants. I had a left lat flap done to strengthen area and new expanders. So excited I am getting closer to my old self! You can contact Mentor to find a doctor that is part of study, there is about 30. My doctor is in Edina, Minnesota. He is awesome, he did the first few of these in the world last year and many more! He name is Dr. Migliori at MMK plastic surgery and Associates. 1-952-925-1111. They should be available for anyone in about 2 yrs or less! Good luck ladies!

joyhum69-how has your reconstruction gone? Thank you for mentioning the study-I found a doctor in Savannah that is part of it and am looking into it. Unfortunately, I had my exchange 3 days before I read your post and had 800cc implants placed. They are too small for my 6’0” frame, so am looking at a revision this summer. Hope your’s are doingwell!

Thank you for posting! I was not told that silicone implants had a max size and would likely achieve only a C cup on my body. I am presurgery 34DDD. After reading your post, I asked my PS how we can reproduce my breasts and he said we can’t! He wanted to reduce my size because I’m short. I pushed back and asked for a hybrid reconstruction (I read about it on a California surgeon’s website) which combines a fat flap and implant. I found most flap surgeons can combine them even if they don’t talk about it. So that’s my advice for larger breasted women, if they can have fat flaps, add implants also to achieve greater projection. I believe this can also be done retroactively post implant reconstruction. Fat grafting can be added to the whole situation as well, usually to fill back in the chest above the breast, but maybe also to increare 1 cup size
