Googly eyed nipples after reconstruction??

I am 1 week post my pre-pec exchange. My left nipple is lower and heading to the left where the right is directly center of the implant. When I look at my pre BMX breasts the left nip was a little bigger and veered to the left but my breasts were so small and post nursing deflated it wasn't very obvious. But NOW with these implants in it is kind of crazy looking!

I kept bringing it up to my PS while the TE were in and he kept saying there will always be some amount of asymmetry bc no 2 breasts start out the same. I saw him yesterday for my 1 week post op, and we agree they look great, but the nipple bothers me. He said we need to wait a couple months to see how it all heals.

Once things "settle" does nipple position change much? Anyone had this and it corrected with another surgery?

I hate to be so damn picky but after allllllll this can't I get a matching set???

In my experience, things change a little bit, but probably not as much as you want it to change. Moving a nipple at this point would be risky indeed, as it's just skin with a few tiny blood vessels, and the risk of necrosis is high.

Here's hoping this is something that will look better in time. Keep us posted, too.

I had this issue as well, not immediately after skin and nipple sparing BMX surgery, but after my left expander was removed, out for 7 months during chemo, and was then replaced. At exchange for that replaced expander the situation was corrected to some degree but not completely. One option, if your nipples are on the smaller side is to have 3D tattooing done to create better symmetry by adding color to the areola make the nipples appear more centered and matching. A tattoo artist with experience in nipple/areola work can advise you if this is an option for your specific problem. Disclaimer - I did not do this so can't specifically advise, but it was discussed at the time. I no longer have nipples after a subsequent number of repair surgeries necessitated the need for smaller implants and the right (the centered one, lol!) had to be removed to accommodate, so I removed the left one as well.
