You know you're a cancer patient when....

Freya--the pill confusion thing is totally understandable. And the regimens can be so complicated. Sometimes you need to get really creative, or just let someone else take care of it for you. Hard to let go of, though.
Junie--I've got some Murphy's Oil Soap around somewhere, need to find it and get using it again!
-
I don't have to worry about the pills for a while, pulled off treatment due to atrocious blood results.
YKYACP when you realise at midnight you are going into hospital in the morning, and the hairs on your legs are at least an inch long. I still have a little vanity left, so even though I can't bend, sitting on the floor with some contortionist moves I got them done.
Then lay on my ivory lounge to catch my breath. Bad move, lounge gets covered in blood, didn't realise I had nicked myself so much. Spend next 30 mins cleaning lounge. Now need another nap.
-
I love Murphy's Oil Soap! Smells clean, but not toxic.
Wow, Freya, I need to rethink my new ivory chair cushions, probably. Hope your hospital visit is a quick and easy one!
-
Freya--Oh my goodness! Prayer said for a quick in and out visit.

So happy for you Spookie- the best graduation ever!!

YKYACPW you start to develop a whacked sense of humor, and your plight starts to look ludicrous, which, in turn, seems hilarious. That's when you have a new problem of controlling inappropriate laughter. It's a coping mechanism, I know, but it is then that YKYACP. Lols

Yup, Spot on Miss B
-
When you come to YKYACP to share something really funny that happened last night, and you can't remember what it was!
-
darn that chemo brain🤪.
-
YKYACP when you are googling “Why are steroids prescribed after chemo" at 4 in the morning after a night of being unable to sleep! I wouldn't mind too much as it's only for 3 days, and yday was day 4 and I didn't take it this last morning. Oh well, hopefully only one day extra of lack of sleep.
Zzzzzzzz
Sarah
-
Scwilly--I know the not sleeping effect of steroids from asthma. I have gone 3 or 4 days/nights without sleeping more than a few moments at a time. Makes me feel very odd. I've learned that I can take some Xanax or ativan at bedtime and get at least a few hours of sleep.
-
Hopefully shaken it off last night and had a better nights sleep. Though it didn't help my DH was heading on. trip across to the east coast today - and is always v restless when he has an early flight! Back on in 2 weeks after my next dose of chemo! I keep your advise in mind!

YKYACPW words start to escape you while speaking, you can't remember the names of certain people you've known for years, and you have the paranoid thought of forgetting your name one day when being introduced!😋
-
MissBianca--I know that feeling!
-
Oh MissBianca you are not alone, you can include "or forgetting your birth date when asked for the (insert any number)-th time in a row" as well.
