    I'm 40 and had my first Mammo Friday. Called back Monday, in Tuesday for more pics and ultrasound on both.

    Radiologist said everything looked good- 2 be igns cysts and 1 dilated duct with debris- she said “too be overly cautious, I'd like a follow up in 6 months"

    I didn't really like that so I asked for a biopsy. She said we can do that if you want but it's less than 1% chance that it's anything other than the dilated duct..

    I was persistent and got my biopsy today and now I'm freaking out!! I don't know why- I'm happy with my choice and I find comfort in what she says but I just have a scared feeling! And of course I'll have to wait the weekend for my results ☹️ Wish me luck and thanks for letting me vent

    Personally, I think you were very brave.while some may think its doing unecessary procedure, i'd rather know for sure too. I did that when I was 23 and 27. Had what they said was "probably fibroadenoma" but I asked to have it removed rather than wonder and wait and feel around etc. Even with the small scar it left, I never regretted it. .

    It's natural to think about the "what if's" . What if it is something. What if by me doing the procedure it stirs something up..etc. Can make oneself go crazy.

    I'm sure it will come back benign like she said. Try to relax and remember you chose and did what you felt would give you piece of mind.
