received report that my mammo was ok but ultrasound

found hypoechoic lobulated solid lesion on right breast.

BAR 4 rec. for biopsy to rule out malignancy. This was from a

local Radiology Center that I have been going to for years. I now

have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment with a breast surgeon at

a hospital for consultation. Long wait, nervous and alone also.

Hi Wings so sorry you are going through this! I'm sorry you feel alone but I have found this forum is a great community of support. I started a post about biopsy anxiety and most women reported that they really aren't that bad. Also I think most biopsies come back B9 (although I guess this depends on the US report and other factors but I think overall most come back B9).

I hope everything comes back B9 for you!

Hi Wings and I'm so sorry. The waiting is stressful for sure. But do know that most results are benign and we are sending warm thoughts your way!

Why have you been going to a local radiation center for years?

it is a Radiology Center where they take

X rays, images, etc. I didn't mean radiation

    sorry.

Oh, good. For a minute there I thought you had buried the lead.

Let us know what the biopsy shows.

This is a wonderful forum for support. My report says

suspicious B no B1 or B2 just B. Several of you seem

to think I have nothing to worry about and I appreciate

your kindness and encouragement. However I am

scared and alone. These reports make you feel like

your life is over or could be.

    Hi DJMammo

I went to a breast surgeon and they did not agree

with the results that I received from the local

place where I had my mammo and ultrasound. They did not see anything but

maybe a cyst. They want to give me another ultra sound.

they didn't even think I will need a biopsy. all of this

worry for 2 weeks. Can opinions vary like this?

Now I am going to a top hospital womens center.

Unfortunately, yes they can. I always recommend one goes to a breast center with radiologists and techs that specialize in breast imaging and offer all types of breast biopsies. The best centers are certified by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. They require the center to meet certain standards in order to obtain this certification.

To find one near you click here. Under modality choose mammography or other breast exam and under designation choose breast imaging center of excellence.

thank you for your response. It is greatly

appreciated. I went to see a Breast Surgeon and

she told me to come back for another ultra sound and not

to worry she didn't think it was anything more than a cyst.

Now I get a call that the radiologist from this hospital (a breast

center) wants another mammo on one breast too. Is this what

goes on? The BS says one thing then the radiologist wants another

mammo. Apparently they didn't like the one from the place I

went. What do you think? Thanks so much all that you do

    for us out there!

    Not an uncommon scenario actually.

after seeing a breast surgeon who told me not

to worry I receive a letter saying that I have to have

a new mammo and US done at this place which is

a hospital. This has been going on for almost 5 weeks

now. I must wait another 10 days to do it again. I guess

this the only way to be sure. This is quite an ordeal.

    Is this what goes on?

I am fine and after 6 weeks of anxiety they

found nothing but a cyst. I was told to come

back in 1 year. This is because this time I
went to a leading Breast Center connected to

a hospital. Thank you for listening to me and

being there for me and all women.
