HI I'm 37 and got the call December 28th. I have met surgeon, oncologist had my genetics test and just had my MRI done. I just got news last night that there is abnormality on my breast bone and need a bone scan. I AM FREAKING OUT that the cancer has spread to my bones. I'm so scared.

Hi Gbet and I'm so sorry you've gotten such a succession of bad news. The initial stage of getting the diagnosis and having a million tests is almost intolerable. Do you have copies of your ultrasound report? Have either of your doctors said that they see lymph node enlargement? Odds are pretty low of spread at your age but I will send you as much positive energy as I can. Wish I could do more.

Sorry you are dealing with so much. When is your bone scan scheduled? Hoping the bone scan comes up clear and that your plan of attack is in place soon. Once that plan is in place, you'll feel like you can plow forward. Until that time, I know it is excruciating waiting and not knowing. This spinning your wheels in place, for me was the hardest part mentally. Hoping you can get in for that scan soon. Try to pamper yourself this weekend.

    Gbet,

I hope you get the scan and answers soon. MRI are very sensitive and certainly are not infallible. They throw off false positives for issues. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Do you know what type of breast cancer and the size?

I also had an abnormality on my breast bone seen during MRI ad got a bone scan. I believe it was a broken blood vessel. I was completely a wreck waiting for results, then I was angry that the waiting delayed surgery, then happy Ihad it done when my ribs started hurting. It is a tough road, especially in the beginning. My thoughts are with you.
