Benign Tumours just keep multiplying!

Hello Breast Cancer community! I have been longing to find anyone to talk to or know of breast symptoms as my family has no records of having anything wrong in this form. I have just turned 22.

Since high school 7 years ago I had discovered my first breast growth, size of a pea at first and located on my left breast above my nipple. My mother reassured me it would turn out to be nothing to worry about and she was half right. Doctors said they were 99% sure they were benign.

Years later I have multiple in each breast, and the first pea sized one has been measured at 10cm at my last ultrasound. My breasts have become incredibly sensitive and painful to the touch as if they were bruised. I had hoped to get them removed when I saw a GP but they assured me getting them all would be too difficult with many incisions. I really can't live with the pain, it's very painful to not have the support of a bra.

Any information on what this could be or what I could ask doctors would be super helpful as I feel my last doctor refused to help me, I'd like a second opinion. Is there a possibility of getting injections to shrink them at all?

    Hi DC, and welcome.

    What exactly has been the diagnosis? Cysts? Fibros? etc? Have you seen a breast specialist. I think that would be the next step I would take. And I am assuming you meant 10 mm not 10cm. 10 cm would be just shy of 4" and something that large should be removed.

    Have you had your vitamin D checked? Do a bit of research on D and tumors and you will see why zi asked you this

    Hey all, Thankyou for the interest in my topic!

    I had my first ultrasound many years ago on the first tumour and doctors were quite sure they were benign however recommended a biopsy. However I had too much fear and did not go through with it and they said to just keep an eye on it. Years later more pop up and the original one continued to grow, it does move under the skin and the shape can be seen from some angles. I have had 2 other ultrasounds since the first time to check on them and same diagnosis, benign tumours but growing, not cysts. I now have multiple in both breasts and when I began showing interest in getting on contraception, doctors suggested I look into figuring out what the cause is or removal of them.

    I will most likely see a breast specialist within the month since it has become painful to live with. Would I need to ask for the ultrasound reports or can the GP send them to the clinic?

    EDIT: I had recently got blood tests done around October and my doctor saw no problems apart from 'slightly on the low side with iron and vit D' however understandable due to it being cold in the winter and no time in the sun' but assured me it was common and not to be concerned about.

    Hi DCupcake. Do the Drs still want you to do a biopsy? Have you had a mammogram at all? I feel like a biopsy might be the only thing that will tell for sure what it is. I know they seem scary (I had 2 done this week) but it may be worth it to find out exactly what's going on. The biopsies honestly weren't that bad. I had sterotatic core biopsies (where the Dr uses a mammogram to guide the needle). The only part that stung a little (but still totally bearable) was the freezing. Then I felt NOTHING at all. It was no more scary or painful than having a cavity filled at the dentist.
