Hi, I'm new to forum and looking for similar experiences. I called my obgyn two months ago after noticing maroon-ish discharge from nipple. Was told to get a blood test, mammogram and follow up with breast surgeon. Blood test for prolactin levels are normal, mammogram showed grouped, heterogenous calcifications in right breast behind nipple which layer on mediolateral magnification. There is also a focal asymmetry in the other breast that shows effacement. BIRADS-4. he radiologist came in to talk with me and explained that she needed to hand me this “scary letter" but that a biopsy may be the first in a few steps to determine what's going on. The breast surgeon didn't explain much but she did test the maroon fluid and I'll get those results in a few days. The stereo biopsy is scheduled for Jan. 4.

Joy~ I have never had any nipple discharge so I can not comment on that. hopefully others will be by to address that for you. I did have a stereotactic biopsy on Nov.28. This was done while sitting upright rather than lying on a table. The procedure itself was not very difficult. They gave me a Xanax prior. I do bleed easily and did have some bleeding post procedure the next day, my fault for trying to pry a tight  lid off of  a box. I felt a very sharp sting and the incision started to bleed a bit. It developed into a large hematoma that took weeks to resolve.

Ice packs off and on the first few days and wearing a bra or support camisole at night really helped. As soon as I took my bra off it was uncomfortable.

I wish you luck with your biopsy and hope the results will be benign.
