Mammoprint

Long story short : I was diagnosed with stage 1 idc er pr positive her2 negative grade 3 .. had lumpectomy , pathology came back with half a node positive .. I ended up getting a bad staph infection after surgery and was not happy with the practice. So I switched.

My new oncologist is amazing and I trust and love her. She decided she wanted to do a mammoprint on my tumor.. I had one round of chemo in the interim..

After my first a.c. treatment I became very neutropenic and my wbc count were nonexistent.

I went back today for follow up to test my blood count. And my doctor got the results of mammo print .. She is sending to Sloan and tumor board as my pathology from my original practice contradicts my mammo print score. My mammoprint says my reoccurance rate without treatment is 10 percent .. with just tamoxifen it's only 4 % and it states no significant chemo benefit.

I am stopping chemo until further tests come back.

All I can say is wtf.

Thoughts ?

Hi there Larissa and that is annoying/confusing, isn't it! Good news overall is that you're stage I so that's awesome. Since you're ER+, did anyone suggest an Oncotype DX test?

    Hi!

I left out the detail that I was moved to stage 2 after lymph node positive was discovered ater surgery .. She is requesting onco dx as well. I' so conflicted. I want to feel relieved but I can't yet.

Wondering if it's possile if pathologist report was faulty? I was also 5 months post partum when I found the lump. My er were over 90. I was grade 2 at diagnoses and went to grade 3 ater surgery. The old practice was horrible. Also got a staph infection after my lumpectomy.

Ah, got it. I'm afraid all you can do now is wait for the Mammoprint and the Oncotype DX results to come back. It could just be that your first practice defaults to "throw everything at it" while your new oncologist is both better and more interested in quality of life issues and doing only the treatment that's really necessary. I'm guessing she redid the pathology too, so she could spot any discrepancies. Hang in there and I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
