First visit with oncologist today - anyone with similar stats?
I had my first oncology appointment today. I really liked the doctor. Unfortunately, my news wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear. The cancer is apparently acting pretty aggressive. She said that it feels like it's doubled from the 2.5 cm it was on the ultrasound on 12/07 to now about 5 cm. My stats are ER negative, PR positive, Her-2 negative, and the Ki-67 is 75%. I'm going for a PET scan, MRI, echo, brain MRI next week and then get the port the following week and start chemo (taxol, doxorubicin and Cytoxan). She said that with its aggressive nature and the size that it's at least stage III.

lemonee,
I dont have same stats as you but am awaiting call today to see if invasive. The doctor has pretty well prepared me it is invasive because my tumor is twice the size of yours.
I just want to get started on PET scan, chemo and pray I will survive this.
I have ER-/PR- HER2+++
Good luck to you. I am not coping very well with size of tumor. How are you doing emotionally

I'm very sorry. The waiting is the worst, isn't it? Like you, I want to get this going and not give this cancer any more time to do any more damage. Emotionally, overall I feel I'm doing pretty well. I do have my down times when I get scared about the future, and I get sad sometimes, wishing so bad I hadn't brushed off my symptoms for so long. I've been doing a lot of praying, and I know I don't want to take the rest of my life for granted, whether that's 5 years or 55 years. I'm trying to stay positive, even though that's easier said than done sometimes. I'm so thankful for this site and being able to connect with others going through the same thing. I hope you get good news today, and I'll pray that we both survive this! Hugs.

lemonee,
I had my first visit with the oncologist today and am ER+, PR-, Her-2-. I am stage 3 with a 3cm tumor. The stage 3 took me by surprise - I was really hoping for better results. I totally agree with you and wish things would move faster so this thing doesn't have a chance to do anymore damage. Like you I am staying positive and making the most of things.
hugs.

Good luck to you!
