Anyone Taking Evista (Brand, not Generic)?

For those of you on raloxifene for high risk, is anyone taking the original brand Evista? I wonder if the brand will lessen the side effects I am experiencing. I have been through the two generics and am willing to pay for the brand if it did not give me the bothersome side effects.

I will ask my MO but until then, I thought I'd see if it was available. My pharmacist says it is, but not by Lilly--by another manufacturer.

I've scoured this site and there are very few of us on the drug who post. Maybe there are more, but please PM me if possible.

Thanks for your help.

JK

I am going to discuss taking this drug rather than tamoxifen. There is evidence of no cognitive impairment with this drug, it seems the estrogen receptors it targets are not in the brain. Not sure exactly what that means except I am willing to take it rather than risk losing more of my cognitive abilities. I have a feeling the trade off might be it doesn't protect the brain from metastatic breast cancer.

thanks for this topic. Considering Raloxifene and glad to know about different bands. I was on fosomax for three years and bone density went up. But also got IBC in 2017with clear nodes and was considering tamoxifen but STAR research seems to show Raloxifene is just as good with fewer problems. Then I could sub Raloxifene for both.

Any feedback on Raloxifene SE and/or varieties would be appreciated! Thanks!
