Good morning! I had my meeting with the surgical oncologist yesterday to discuss stereo biopsy, ADH diagnosis and next steps. I really like him, even though he's a Patriots fan. He discussed possibility of upgrade after excisional biopsy, but said we'd cross that bridge if/when we get there. Talked about treatment if ADH diagnosis remains. He said, wait & watch, which he doesn't recommend due to my "busy" breasts, Tamoxafin or mascectomy. I'm getting an EKG today & MRI and bloodwork on the 15th. He wants all that done before the surgery. His office will call today to set date for surgery now that I have everything else scheduled. I'm super nervous about the Tamoxafin. I've been reading up on it, and the side effects scare me. I especially worry about the increased risk of uterine and ovarian cancers. I had an ablation three years ago due to irregular and extremely heavy periods. There were some uterine polyps removed at that time. I no longer get a period. I worry that should I ever develop that type of cancer, the typical side effects (bleeding)won't present due to the ablation. Any thoughts on this? I've read a lot of posts about Tamoxafin, but I'm curious about the ablation part. Thanks in advance!
