Some doubts regarding breast cancer.

My elder sister is experiencing some sort of soreness in her nipples since last two weeks. As she felt the pain was constantly increasing, we ran to our family doctor and she told us this could be breast cancer. My sister has been practicing a fit lifestyle from a long time and we have no hereditary issues either. What possibly could be the reason?

We're planning another appointment with the doctor and I'm confused and scared at the same time. If I can get to know what all questions to ask to the doctors that can cover the aspects like clarifying the precautions to take etc. it would become much easier to deal with this.

Thank you.

You won't know anything until the areas of concern are biopsied. Also, I think you should put this in the "Not Diagnosed But Worried" forum. You posted in the chemotherapy forum, which isn't appropriate since she hasn't even been diagnosed. Best wishes!

What pupmom said! Additionally, although living a fit lifestyle is a good thing, it is not guaranteed protection against any type of cancer. Family history? Most of us who have been dx'ed have no family history.

That being said, only a doctor can help, your sister find out what's going on. Best of luck

Hi Emma. I'm a little confused about the doctor diagnosing your sister so quickly. Do you know if your sis had a mammogram, ultrasound or biopsy yet? Right now your questions should focus on results to date and which kinds of test should come next. Don't hesitate to post again in another forum once you know a little bit more. Fingers crossed for you.
