Patience will see us through a troubled time, but how much easier it is to savor patience when it's accompanied by faith. We can know and fully trust that all is well—that our lives are on course—that individual experiences are exactly what we need at this moment. However, faith makes the knowing easier and the softness of the patient heart eases us through the times of challenge and uncertainty. -unattributed

Little today, but mighty.....
Remember, we all stumble, every one of us.
That's why it's a comfort to go hand in hand.
- Emily Kimbrough -
Yesterday was the 6th anniversary of my surgery, and I was reflecting on how I made it through, and where I received the support that got me from diagnosis to post-surgery. The greatest support came from this group, and I wanted to stop by and was happy to see some familiar “faces”.
Wishing you all happy holidays and a healthy, happy 201!
-
Nice to meet you, spunky--and congrats on the 6-yr "survivorversary!"
-
Spunky -- great to see you. Wonderful to hear it is your 6th. anniversary. Wow !!! Doesn't time fly. Sharing and caring got all of us through -- out of the worst of times came so much that was positive and the best. Whatever anyone here gave to you I'm sure was given back with all the love and care that you sent back with each interaction.
Hope your holidays as well as everyone's here is full of the richest of blessings.

There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout: This
is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel
the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package.
Take me. . . or leave me. Accept me--or walk away! Do not try
to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your
idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold.
If I need to change, I alone will make that decision. When you are
strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad--you will be
amazed at the opportunities that life presents you.
Stacey Charter -
How lovely to think that no one need wait a moment, we can start now, start slowly changing the world! How lovely that everyone, great and small, can make their contribution toward introducing justice straightaway. . . . And you can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!
Anne Frank -
Magic is a sudden opening of the mind to the wonder of existence. It is
a sense that there is much more to life than we usually recognize; that
we do not have to be confined by the limited views that our family, our
society, or our own habitual thoughts impose on us; that life contains
many dimensions, depths, textures, and meanings extending
far beyond our familiar beliefs and concepts.
John Welwood -
I wake each morning with the thrill of expectation and
the joy of being alive. And I'm thankful for this day.
Angela L. Wozniak -
Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.
--Benjamin Franklin -
When we recognize that nothing has to go right for us to be happy, that people do not have to behave for us to love them, our walk home can be surprisingly simple. We have enormous power not to manipulate the world, but to be happy and know peace. -Hugh Prather
-
"Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone's life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance."
-- Roy T. Bennett -
We must practice love. . . . As you grow in love for others, you will find your own power increasing. You will learn how to disagree without being disagreeable. You will become more approachable. You will better understand why all people want to be truly loved and not just tolerated. You will emphasize more and more the good side of even the worst people. You will develop an inner warmth, an abiding sense of humor. -James Keller
-
If we knew the true power of belief and positive thinking, we would never have a negative thought.
Susan Santucci -
Christmas! The very word brings joy to our hearts. No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given--when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.
Joan Winmill Brown -
I heard the bells on
Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth,
good-will to men!
Henry Wadsworth
LongfellowHave a very wonderful Christmas, giving the gift of love and understanding.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, there are thousands to prophesy failure. There are thousands to point out to you, one by one, the dangers that await to assail you.But just buckle in with a bit of a grin, just take off your coat and go to it; just start to sing as you tackle the thing that "cannot be done," and you'll do it. -Edgar Guest
-
Let me not be tied down to property or praise and I shall be free. Free from the nagging ache of envy. Free from the hurts of resentment. Free to love all and forgive all. Free to do and say what is right, regardless of the unpopularity. Free to wander everywhere as inspiration guides me. -Francis of Assisi
-
There is overwhelming evidence that the higher the level of self-esteem,
the more likely one will be to treat others with respect,
kindness, and generosity.
- Nathaniel Branden -
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand,
while imagination embraces the entire world,
and all there ever will be to know and understand.
- Albert Einstein -
We are all different - and we are all one.
Take time to understand, and to appreciate.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie -
It depends on us. . . Another year lies before us like an unwritten page, an unspent coin, an unwalked road. How the pages will read, what treasures will be gained in exchange for time, or what we find along the way, will largely depend on us. -Esther Baldwin York

Happy 2018 to yo, and thanks for another year of daily inspirational messages.
-
Only a night from old to new,
Only a sleep from night to morn,
The new is but the old come true,
Each sun rise sees a new year born.
Helen Hunt Jackson

One of my all time favorites -- but know I have many.
"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"
-- Audrey Hepburn -
Souls, like animals and plants, need air. Do our lives have enough empty space in them to nourish our spirit? Living in cities, plugged into networks of jobs, friends, and projects, we sometimes neglect our standing-and-staring needs. Blessed idleness!Blessed inattention! When we slip back into the groove, we're refreshed by our passive interlude. Let's remember the recipe and find some time to stand aside and stare. -unattributed
-
All that we are is the result of what we have thought; it is founded upon our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If one speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows that person, as the wheel follows the foot of the ox that draws the carriage. If one speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows that person, like a shadow that never leaves. -Gautama Buddha
-
There is a magnet in your heart
that will attract true friends.
That magnet is unselfishness,
thinking of others first;
when you learn to live for others,
they will live for you.
- Paramahansa Yogananda -
The great gift of human beings is that we have the power of empathy.
- Meryl Streep -
