Cracking Wound

i had my lumpectomy on the 26th, just 4 days ago. There are no external stitches, just bunches of glue. There is an area on my breast and one under my arm where the how is cracking and there are some signs of blood on gauze- that I am keeping on them to prevent rubbing from my bra. Is this something I need to get looked at? How should I take care of them? My doctor said that I can bathe/shower as normal, no restrictions except what I feel I can do.

after the effects of surgery and radiation..I used aloe spray with lidocaine for pain, but what really helped was 1500

Mg. Vitamin e, liquid..if you are familiar with Wal-Mart this is where you can get both.

Also dressing pads in your bra where the incision is..they also said wear a sports bra the first few weeks 24x7

    Blessings

sometimes the incision may open up a little. If more than a cm or 2 call the doctor. In the meantime, wear a good supportive bra 24/7 so the weight of your breast isn’t pulling on the incision, when you shower do not rub the incision with your hand/soap/washcloth/loofah/pouf/etc. - just let plenty of soapy water run over it and rinse clean, pat it dry - don’t rub, and use telfa pads instead of gauze to cover (telfa won’t stick to the wound and potentially pull it open again if it bleeds or oozes a little). A little neosporin won’t hurt either. Good luck!

Thank You. I have been wearing a bra, as I am very large chested (44G/H) and to even change bra hurts for just the few minutes without it on. So there is no way I'm going without one for any length of time.

Last night before going to bed, I noticed that there was some slight oozing. It was clear and bloody, just a little bit where the opening is. Is this normal, or should I be looked at. It is only appears to be about the size of a pencil eraser.

    M,

I think you should at least let your surgeon know that there is an opening that is oozing. That opening could lead to an infection

it’s probably ok but definitely let dr know just in case. With the weight of your breasts being a G/H cup, supporting the one breast anytime you’re out of the bra with your arm/hand even while you bathe is likely a good idea including when your taking it off and putting it on. Also make sure your bra straps are pulled snug-it’s real easy for them to loosen and to get used to that feeling bit the downside is the support isn’t what it should be.
