Lita Sofia is so adorable and dogs are such great companions. So I was cleaning up my iPad tonight , I'm constantly taking screen shots and it was really getting loaded down. Anyway I found this now I did have the pics of her ct scan but I erased them 😩 But I did have her protocol and thought it might be helpful. Thanks for the advic on the feet and hand issue.

I was actually on Xeloda for a little over a year. I guess it didn't work that well for my brain mets. Two of them are over 4 cm.

My Christmas gift of Walking Dead SHITTIN' PANTS arrived. My daughter thought it would be some sort of gag gift....just an empty box, but NO, there are REAL disposable pull-up diapers in the box.

It's not fun when you can't feel anything down there or back there anymore. As I posted days ago, this is MY LIFE now. I still have to wait for my plastic pants to arrive to help with oozing, leakage issues as pull-ups aren't a perfect solution, especially when dealing with diarrhea from weekly Taxol Tx.

No word from the MO on the MRI yet. I hope I hear something after the 1st. Maybe they can do some radiation to bring some of the feeling back, but my fear is once the nerves are damaged, that's that; they won't come back to normal and I'll have to wear depends and plastic pants for the rest of my life. But maybe radiation will keep me from losing all my bladder control (I still have a little control of that left, but for how long I don't know).

So, it's happy shittin' for me.

Thoseare side splitting funny & I believe our ability to laugh is extremely healing. Besides cancer I've had MS for many years. I belong to an MS gym where many of us need Depends due to nerve damage issues. One thing about sharing a common disease is that you meet the most honest, open, loving people you can imagine. Knowing these people as I do I know should I place a box like this on a table in the gym it would give so many people a needed chuckle!! Lita, if you still have the info & wouldn't mind sharing, could you send it to me so I can order? I promise I will never tell who gave me the idea!! Happy New Year all. I hope that 2018 gives us some measure of serenity, acceptance, motivation and that needed giggle wherever we can find it. Love you all

    Lita,

As I’m going through the various BCO threads tonight, I’m catching up on this one and truly just seeing your name makes me smile. Your posts are so truthful and your sense of humor just comes off the page. I find myself laughing out loud, which I don’t do too often these days.

Thanks for keeping us updated and know you are in my daily prayers, dear one. Wishing and praying for the best scan results.

MO got back to me re: MRI and today's PET scan. The good news: abdominal mets stable. The bad news: lumbar mets have gotten WAY WORSE.

Duh! Why do you think I'm wearing Depends? The growing tumors are compressing the nerves and causing myelopathy so I can't feel anything down there anymore.

The RO is out of town, but the MO will contact him when he returns and see if we can radiate again. I hope we can, but I had rads to that area last April, so we shall see.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

MO arranged for a consult with RO this am. I will start a series of 5 sessions to the sacral spine tomorrow to help with fecal incontinence.

RO isn't making any promises as there are no guarantees. He said once the nerves are damaged, often times they do NOT come back. But at least, we can hopefully keep it from getting worse and not causing full bladder incontinence as well. I'm still okay on the bladder front...but I've had a couple of close calls.

I have to have imodium and lomotil on stand by because the additional rads could cause diarrhea. There might be some painful urination, too, he said, but we'll see.

Lita - I'm sending you gentle hugs! I don't want to hug you too hard, something bad might pop out😄. I'm hoping those rads will do the job! You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Lita - I hope some good comes from the effort. Xeloda was mentioned a page back. I remember when we were sure that Xeloda crossed the blood brain barrier. You got it in the brain. I got it in the liver. Lesions growing despite Xeloda and what is was doing for rest of cancer. A complicated mess. Always thinking of you.

I don't post much, but you are always in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the rads help, with little or no SE's.

Sending love, hugs and prayers for healing your way.
