50's(Lynne)~Avery is a lovely name, very rare and I really like that a lot. The same goes with Cameron. They are precious. I can't imagine what it would be like to have the chance to actually have grandchildren, but my daughter said to me the other day that she isn't sure if she really wants to have children. It's expensive and she doesn't like how the world is going. I did have to agree with her points. I have to say that if I had the chance to not have to worry about people when I'm gone, I would be a lot less worried and anxious about being sick . But then I see those beautiful children you just posted pics of and I instantly have a heart melt down. She loves babies and they love her. Maybe she will change her mind. I don't know. But it's a really deep subject anymore, no matter who I talk to that are of a certain age. When I was young, it was.... you get Older.... find that one .... settle down....have a family....and the cycle goes on and on. But less and less it seems they want the responsibility and selflessness that comes along with being a parent. It's quite interesting!! But one never knows what this world is going to be in 25 years!! Scary thought. I will live vicariously through you all! Much love ~M~ Oh and Lynne we will be with you during your scans. Mini me will be in your pocket making distracting noisesto take your mind off of them. We know how you feel. You're not alone! No way!
Mae~ hope you're safe and having a blast but getting enough rest as well! When our California correspondent checks in!

Reporting tonight from Palm Springs, losing money but having fun doing it!
Had lunch earlier today with family and dinner tonight with friends. Tomorrow we head out towards the Grand Canyon.
-
50's girl. I would love to watch dolphins and whales in Aulani. I know we're going to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, too. Eight grandchildren? I always thought I would have more than two but with my DD health problems it's not a good idea. My DSIL has his hands full with his job and taking care of my DD. My DDIL had to stay in the hospital for two months prior to Blake being born. No more grandchildren for me.
My DD eye doc told her yesterday it was like working under water when he did her ONSF procedure, because there was so much spinal fluid behind her optic nerve. She feels so much better now that it is drained. The slit will let it continue to drain. Her left eye will be done Jan 4. These procedures will keep her from losing her eyesight as well as decrease her headaches. WiN win!
I have PET on January 9. Now that Christmas is over, I already feel some scanxiety creeping in. It's been 5 months since my last one. As we all know, anything can happen in five months. I wish not having pain anywhere was an indicator of no MBC progression. I didn't even have pain a year ago at DX, except for a cough, and it was in lung, chest and liver. But, I do have some confidence that I've only been on Ibrance one year. I should get another year out of it. Also, I had y90's that looked successful in my last scan. I hate MBC. It's so unpredictable.

Mae~ I loose money everyday by just waking up and going outside lol the weather here is 9 degrees! I don't even want to move a toe out of these covers. What is the temperature there? I really hope that your anniversary trip is making you happy and loving your DH is the most special thing, in the world! What a wonderful thing to do, go some place warm โ -- be with the man you loveโ --see the sun--the actual sunโ โ --have awesome feastsโ --travel in an airstream โ --get to see Todd Rudgren-โ ----doing excellent correspondence reportingโ !!! Have a blast Mae!! Big hugs darling! Much love ~M
I have only been to a casino twice and I was underage once, it was a date with an older guy, my DDS (dear dumb sister) tried to set me up with her BIL, he was good looking and had money and wasn't bad, I just wasn't interested. I pretended to fall asleep on the way home because he kept trying to kiss me all night. I just didn't feel it! That was the last date with him! The other time I went with my mom and SF to see an act that imitates the beatles it was in Tennessee, it was pretty good! I have heard the casinos have some good shows!
-
Grannax~ so relieved to hear that your DD and the plan they have come up with is working!!!!!!! Clapping ๐ for you both. The fact that the pain and pressure have been relived is such a Big deal, for the sweet girl. Nothing worse than watching a child suffer. Moms always would rather take away the pain. It is just something moms just do! Please give her a hug from me. I can still see her smiling in that tree!! That Is why, I love sharing the waywe do. Now I have a face to put with sending my happy thoughts of strength and recovery her way! You're a wonderful mother my friend! Much love ~M~
-
Grannax~ I wanted to mention your PET scan in Jan. You're not alone. We are there every step of the way. Think of all of us in your corner, sending good thoughts and vibes that cannot be ignored! Good thoughts coming way! Youre never alone.! Hugs sweet woman ~M~

Mae or San Francisco correspondent - I love the home on wheels. It looks like you're having a fabulous time. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.
One shocking thing that I am noticing reading through these posts and looking at the glorious pictures is that you are all so young. I'm 60 but you ladies have young families and husbands. May God grant us all ease and a wonderful healthy new Year. Back to reading through the posts.
-
Grannax so glad to hear that there is technology available to relieve the pressure in your DD's eye. Scanxiety is real. We're all pulling for the best results. We're all hoping for the 2 year or more mark with Ibrance.
It seems that when I wrote my last post all of the pictures and posts from two days ago deleted. I guess I'll be reading them in my email.
Well our Atlanta adventure left my DH bedridden with a nasty feverish cold and severe gout in both ankles. I've been so busy tending to everything that I haven't felt as many side effects. I am catching his cold though sniffles and coughing. Three more Ibrance pills in this cycle. Should I call onc with my cold symptoms and or stop taking Ibrance?
I'm waiting for FEMA adjuster and insurance adjuster to assess hurricane Irma damages. 8-4 time frame.
I get cold looking at all the ice and snow. Stay warm everyone.
-
Tanya ~ if you're running a fever higher than 100.3 you should call, I don't think they will delay your ibrance unless your blood work counts are too low to continue. That would also only be a delay until you're blood recovered enough to allow you To retake it again! Jump on the dayquil train and keep the doseages coming, or what your choice of cold relief is.......You have been the caretaker for a him now! Please make sure you rest or you will definitely get that cold. Eat well also. Drink a lot of water to flush your system, and wash and wash and wash your hands!
Gout!!!! OUCH!!!!! My DH gets that when he has too much red meat. And it's killer painful! He can't even wear a sock or have a sheet over it, the pain is that bad. I feel so bad for him. I hope he got the amazing medicine fast that really does work. Also, sorry that he got that nasty cold going around. My son has been sick with it for 13 days. So far I have been lucky and staying away from them and their belongings. Washing my hands a lot helps tremendously! I know that if I am not getting sick like I used to catch every single thing. Now (knock on wood) since they removed the tumor and I have been on chemo, I just don't seem to get sick! I am very thankful for that. I used to get sick, really sick every 8 weeks. Pneumonia, bronchitis, upper respiratory infections! Sinus infections! Always sick. They thought it was my one lung, (I only breathe on one lung due to another issue before cancer) so getting sick, they attributed to my Lung function, it wasn't, it was cancer, and it came out of no where! The day I was diagnosed, I ran 6 miles in an hour, that very day! It was mind blowing. So listen to your body always.
Grannax~ You mentioned you didn't have pain, my onc assistant told me last time when I was set to scan, it had been six months and I was terrified!!! She said. how do you feel? Do you feel aches ? Or do you feel new pain? I didn't feel new pain at all, it was just jumping aches and I felt pretty darn good. And my scans matched. How I was feeling. So try to remember that as you go In there. If I am honest with myself, I knew there was something wrong b fire diagnosis,I didn't feel well, I was always fatigued, it was obvious and scary. But deep down I knew something wasn't right. I didn't feel that way going into the last scan! From that scan, I was deemed in remission! So hold on to us tight.... real tight and we will walk you through! Much love ~M~
-
.....I know some of yougot a blizzard. And that gets a yuck! I talked to a friend who lives outside of Lake Erie in pa and they got lake effect snow 52 inches. The snow Is so tall, they had to bring in machines from Ohio, because they couldn't get the snow removal machines out to clear anything and they ran out of room to even place the snow! They had to transfer the snow to another state. Crazy! I'll take this view out my window. Not too much. But it's freezing!! It was 9 when I woke up And it is only 14 now. I know some of you are in the negatives. Wow! And NO! Much love ~M~

I love all the photos everyone is posting; they are spectacular and help personalize this thread in the nicest way.
I felt like this Christmas for me could have been billed as "...and the role of Santa Claus will be played by Mrs. M!" I really made it happen and it almost looked effortless.
First off, dh and I came down with a stomach virus the day before Christmas eve. Sick as a dog. Could not get out of bed. Come Christmas Eve day I felt fifty percent better and amazingly finished prep for 20 members of my side of the family to come celebrate.
On Christmas morning, still recuperating. In addition to giving the usual socks and sweatpants type presents, I surprised dh and ds with a few gifts they had no idea they were getting, fitbits for both plus dh got a desperately needed new iPad that he never asked for. They were thrilled.
That afternoon we visited my mother in law in the nursing home. I took our dvd player, hooked it to her tv and we watched an hour compilation of home videos I had made from ones I took over 20 years with that side of the family. She was thrilled.
My stepson, his wife and my two grandkids came in Christmas night and stayed all the next day. I babysat the kids for the afternoon and it was a magical time. I was thrilled.
In all, there I was making sure four generations had a memorable Christmas. Gifts, food, atmosphere for everyone. While getting the stomach flu and getting over it. Oh, plus keeping that other pesky shit at bay......you know......mbc.....
Yes, ladies, we are amazing. Don't ever forget it.
-
Divine~I know exactly what you mean! I am so impressed that you did all that while battling the awful flu bug! I smiled the entire time I read your post! (Not because of the bug of course!) but you're truly amazing! Nothing like mothers touches for Christmas. It sounds like a day filled with making solid memories and you kicking some major butt in making it all happen. So thoughtful, your gifts were for your dearest! I love the warmth I felt thinking of their faces, when they see all the thought and preparation that you did for everyone! Isn't it funny? No matter what size the mountain we have to climb, we somehow find a way to gear up and do it. I Am in awe of all of your strength and kindness and unselfish ways! Much love ~M~
-
divine I loved the family movies idea. I only have still shots but when we pull them out everyone shares their memories of the events.
Mic I'm already sick with sniffles and sore throats. I had bloodwork yesterday so I'll call and see what my numbers look like. Thanks for the tips
-
Been busy with kids being home so haven't stopped by lately.
Had scans yesterday a bit later in day then planned because my insurance required a peer to peer review and no one told my Dr....GRRRR I get scans every 3 month why are scans a question.
Anyway scans look good...bones are stable...2 little spots on liver may have been a bit bigger but bigger spots are smaller. My bilirubin is the lowest in over a year. We will do 3 more cycles of chemo and then scan. more growth we will biopsy for foundation one. But Dr seemed happy with them and I am too...ย -
Lynne(Man) Really enjoyed your photos! You go, Harley Mama! Cool jacket! We are having similar weather here in Maine, of course. The oil furnace and wood stove are struggling to heat the house. Glad I took my grandson sledding on Tuesday! I won't worry about your safety so much on the tricycle!
Lynne(50's)- Bretton Woods is sooo pretty! My folks met in the early 50's at Crawford House(no longer). We visited NH all the time as kids! Stay by the fire!
Tanya-bummer about that darn cold and gout. I am 59, and DH is 71 but we are raising our 8 yr old grandson.
Divine- you are indeed Divine! The women are the memory makers! My DH is an engineer, and they can be like Mr. Spock! He does appreciate my touches, though.
Grannax- good news about your daughter-thank heavens! I have a feeling your scan will show stability, but damn, don't I hate the scanxiety.
Keetmom- 1000 hallelujahs for your scan results.
Micmel- you are such a sweetie! I'm happy that you enjoyed the pic of my rings. I love vintage jewelry, and also funky silver pieces.
Mae- you must be just loving your vacation!
love to each-may the force be with you. MJH

Everyone is sick this Christmas, just a bad year for it I guess.
Grannax2, wishing you good news on your scan, I have them coming my up again on 1/7 & 1/8.
Quick follow up to my previous San Diego post, Eucalyptus trees are plenty and hardy enough for the drought conditions, since the line the freeways in much of the state they are a familiar, yet mostly unappreciated site. I also spotted a small partially eroded cliff and recall having a few still around as a kid. A few of us who frequently played outside unattended would play โarchaeologistsโ and dig out holes high enough to climb to and big enough to sit in. So many good days spent playing in the dirt, lol
-
hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed Christmas. Love all the photos. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2018. Best wishes for all of us facing the usual scans etc, but just remember to be thankful for every day we have. Valencia is a lovely city, but so quiet at Christmas. Looking forward to a new year party!! X

bubbles on the beach on Christmas Day. Trip to aquarium was good and great architecture!!
-
MJH~I love your lovely rings! I think there is nothing more romantic than an elegant diamond setting that has been handed through the families. It means more than anything just purchased off the shelf!! Warms my heart that you shared that with us. Much love
Mae~Hi San Diego!!! My brother used to live there and he swears by the weather! I am so jealous sitting here in 17 degree weather at 11:15 am. Brrrrrrr! Thinking of you and DH moving along in your air stream!
Love you all ~M~
-
Minnie~I love those pictures Minnie. That is the coolest bubble!! I have never seen one that big. My first instinct is to run up and pop it!!! The child in me never leaves ! That is so neat, to look at that bubble with palm trees over looking the ocean! I am thrilled to see the beautiful fish my kids used to move their mouths as the fish did, when they were little guys!! Absolutely beautiful coloring and picture of that fish. Looks like a great time! Much love and happiness! ~M~

Waving hi to everyone! New puppy is keeping me busy. I have been reading, just haven't had time to respond.
Hugs and prayers,
Claudia

I am enjoying all the beautiful pictures. Now I want to go somewhere. Oh, but it must be someplace warm. These frigid days are wearing me down. Claudia, Your puppy is beautiful.
Minnie, You are so right. We should remember to be thankful for things that we sometimes take for granted.
Grannax, I am glad that your daughter is doing well.
MJH, I have seen many photos of Crawford House. As you probably know, there were once many big hotels up here, but many of them were destroyed by fires. I do like it up here, but it has been 15 below zero two mornings in a row. Brrrrrrr.
Keetmom, Woohoo for you scan results. That is great news. It is odd that you had to wait for the peer to peer review. It sounds crazy that there would be any question at all.
It is good to hear all the happy stories of Christmas. It's hard to believe that it is over so soon.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Keetmom~I am thrilled to hear that your scan results were good. I have no idea how the heck I missed your post. I never do that. I was looking for you. As I always do. I am thankful you're doing Good! Sounds like busy with the kids is a good thing especially when it's Christmas, can you believe it's already almost a week gone away already?. Then freezing January. It's been so cold I haven't gone anywhere and today I ended up with the nasty bug that my family has been bouncing around the house.... ๐ฅ๐โฃ๏ธ For your scan results. May you have many many many .........years of them! Much love ~M~
-
okay is that fish looking at us ?? Seriously. Look at it? That is what I call awesome.
50's(Lynne). Omg 15 below? Omg. I wouldn't know what to do! That is some serious cold weather. I'm freezing here at 12 degrees! I don't even want to leave the bed. When nature calls, I want to cry lol. It's just the coldest week between Christmas and New Years I can remember!
I wonder how many are planning to go to time square? That would be crazy. The temps are supposed to be like a low of ten degrees New Year's Eve!! No thank you! Even when I was twenty I had no interest in city's. I am a country suburb girl and always will be I guess! I don't like cold weather at all. I hope this doesn't mean the entire winter is going to be this cold. Yuck! Keep warm ladies. I'm going to bed soon. I feel icky with this bug. Much love ~M~
Hope you're safe and having a great time Mae!!
-
I apologise to all you ladies suffering cold weather, I had a lovely sunny afternoon yesterday on the terrace in shorts!! Mind you it does cool in the evening, but just a jacket, so nothing like you are experiencing.
Love that German shepherd puppy, brings back happy memories.
Just a question, do some DHs have trouble coping. Mine seems a bit strange and distant at the moment
Happy New Year to all!
-
Here in Texas, we are excited to have cold weather. I finally got to wear my new sweaters and even my heaviest coat. Of course it's not really cold by New England or Canada standards. And we have had no snow! My grandchildren are wishing for some while they are on break.
The German Shepherd puppy, I'm trying not to be green with envy. Does this mean you are already in your new house? No, because you said you are building it Bigbhome. She brings back lots of memories for me, too. I was young, single, living in an apartment, had my first job and my own horse and Willie was my best friend. Also, I was oblivious about breast cancer, much less MBC. All that changed just four years later when my grandmother died from MBC. Little did I know what was to come for my mother, my sister and me.
Seems like a lot of us will have scans in January. ๐ Never a fun experience, but sometimes good news. I hope we all get good news to start our New Year.๐
