I'm on my ninth year of anastrozole. During most of that time, my side effects have been rather mild or did not last more than a couple of weeks. However, since the summer, the pain in my hips and lower back, which I attribute to exacerbated arthritis, has become much worse. I have been able up to now to alleviate it with ibuprofen when it gets very bad, but I'm not sure I want to continue taking several a day. And I'm not sure how much longer they will be effective. I am considering stopping the anastrozole at the end of the summer when I reach my 10 year mark.

Has anyone taken an AI for ten years and then discontinued? If so, did the side effects, like exacerbated arthritis, go away. Or are they here for good?

Interested to anyone with answers to this thread! Has the drug manufacturer changed

for the Anastrozole? That always makes a difference for me and the SEs. I'm in year 6.
