Pre-Pectoral Breast reconstruction-Revision
I am 4 years post exchange with traditional under the muscle Mentor silicone implants. I have a revision coming up to go smaller from 650cc to 450-475cc. I am scheduled for this procedure as my PS has been doing it now for quite awhile with excellent results. I am wondering what your experiences are with the Pre-pectoral reconstruction? they say the implants will move more naturally , no more "iron bra", and they closely mimic pre cancer breasts. Would love your input!

Yesterday I had what I hope is the punctuation mark on the long sentence cancer has written for me. I had fat grafting (second round) over the implants I had placed in September. I really think I am now done.
My PS is a super duper perfectionist...more than I previously thought. She analyzed my photos pre-surg and took a long time marking me. She found ripples I hadn't noticed as well as some teeny ones I had, but didn't find significant. She also found a slight ridge in my previous donor area to fix. I hadn't noticed it either. When I commented on that, she said, "I see things in millimeters and millimeters matter." She said her husband dreads having work done on the house as her inspections are so harsh!
So, she harvested from my outer thighs, saddle bags, love handles and abdomen. I am thin but she said she still found plenty of fat. Aside from nasty nausea in recovery, everything went well.
I used Norco last night but so far today I've only used ibuprofen. I am in a crotchless compression garment (so nice for potty time) and surgi bra until tomorrow when I can shower and then wear what I want. I'm pretty swollen but otherwise feel good.
Thanks for reading!

Hi Mimi, Congrats on the switch!! do you know about this thread:
Topic: TE/Implant OVER pectoral Can exercise, comfortable &NO RIPPLES!
I am 2 weeks out of my switch from excruciatingly painful sub-pec implants to pre-pec. It is night and day! I am out of most of my pain and they look better than the first implants although I can tell that I will have some rippling (I wanted "soft touch" Natrelles). Small price to pay for being out of most of my pain.

Good to hear VegGal!!! Keep us posted!

Hi Renee,
I will check out that thread, thank you! I really wanted to hear from as many as possible like you, if their outcome is as good as they say it will be. It’s a very expensive surgery and I worry about two things:
The skin stretching and sagging very quickly and cancer detection on the chest wall which is now going to be behind the implant.
I personally do not have pain, I just hate the non-moving breast look and the iron bra. Going to the gym and lifting weights is not great either when your pecs lift your breast up. I so wish you well and would love to hear your progress. I’m olanning on two weeks off, but have flexibility in working in my office the third week. How do you feel recovery is going after two weeks in terms of activity and work?
Cheers to you! Happy Holidays!

Hi Renee,
Do you feel with your new Pre-pecs that you will need to wear a bra all the time since they are less supported by the muscle? Also do you feel more strength in your arms and hands?
Thanks!
Mimi
