I go Monday for surgery. I am so angry. I was diagnosed last May with Breast Cancer by the time I went through testing and in July when I had surgery I was told it was an abscess and he didn't see any reason to do a biopsy. Now it is 3x's as large and still includes the lymph nodes. I asked him at my follow-up when will the lump go away? He said give it a little time. It never went away it only got bigger. Now I am Birad 4c out of 5.

I am confused by your post. How were you diagnosed in May? What surgery did you have in July? What surgery are you about to have? Or do you mean you are going to have a biopsy now?

Did they not send the lump to pathology last time? I hope you have a different surgeon this time. Hoping your surgery goes dmoothly

I had a sonogram and mammogram in May after finding a lump in my right breast. They told me it was cancer and he would go in cut it out do a biopsy and we would go from there. In July I had the surgery. The "cancer" was an abscess and there was no need to do a biopsy.

Now the lump is larger and my lymph nodes are still inflamed. I went in Monday the 18th for a lumpectomy and this time they sent the biopsy off to be analyzed. I had to use the same Dr.

I had the surgery on the 18th it feels like someone is trying to rip off my arm and is somehow pulling the skin off of my back. It hurts so bad that it is I feel like I can't breathe. I can't eat. The pain medicine is not strong enough. Is there anything that y'all have done that helps? The surgery sight is between 4-6 inches long.

I just saw your last post. I hope you have since called your surgeon and informed him about your pain and that you now have some relief.

I went to see him on January 02, 2018. He told me that he had done a partial mastectomy and that was why I hurt so bad. He had to cut around the muscle. He told me that the mass was not cancer, so that is why he didn't cut it all out. He had to cut a large section and about 4 1/2 to 6 inches. It turned into a partial mastectomy. Now I have this huge flat spot that goes from the side of my breast to under my arm that still has a lump in it to remind me the fear of that I had being told it was cancer. He didn't even give me more pain meds. To top it off he told me just keep moving it around it'll get better. I had to go to my regular physician and ask him for pain medicine. Don't get me wrong I know how blessed I am not to have cancer. but it seems like oh you don't have cancer, so we no longer have to take care of you.

Granna, congratulations on the benign findings but still it's terrible to be in pain. Lumpectomy and partial masectomy are essentially the same thing; insurance companies just use the term partial masectomy now. So what will work is pain meds for a couple days, plus ice, then probably Tylenol for a few days after that. Since you're not going to get follow-up care from your surgeon or a breast care center, please also Google stretching exercises for post-lumpectomy surgery and start those once you are feeling better. Your hospital may also be able to recommend a physical therapist who works with breast cancer patients.

So sorry, and feel free to stay in touch with us.
