Just had my first T/C yesterday, now waiting for the Neulasta Onpro to begin. Things went smoothly but today I have a constant feeling that I have to burp and just can't. Is this expected? While they told me not to look up all the side effects but of course I'm going nuts - can any one you tell me what to expect in the days following the first infusion? Thanks so much. Can't believe I got through the first hurdle.

Are you taking some Claritin (regular, not D) to help with any bone pain that the combo of Taxotere and Neulasta may cause? If not I would immediately take a 10mg Claritin or generic loratadine, and continue that for several days. The need to burp may be caused by the irritation of soft tissue by the drugs - Pepcid or Tums may help, but it may persist and if OTC meds don't help, you should mention it to your oncologist in case you need a stronger Rx med. Were you sent home with anti-nausea meds?

I had awful heartburn/reflux on TC, could that be what you are feeling? My MO told me to take Nexium daily and it helped a lot.

Thanks for quick responses! Taking Claritin and they gave me Aloxi IV whcih they said should last a few days and then compazine. Just had some ginger ale and was able to burp.. I didn't think side effects started so fast. I guess I'm in a rude awakening!!!
