Burning kind of tenderness in upper left rib area..?

I had a lot of tenderness and soreness in my ribs after I finished radiation. It almost felt as though they may have been broken, but they weren't, and I was told it was a side effect of the radiation. It took months to pass. But I would still mention it to your RO and get it checked out.

glad to hear that has a name because I have been fighting a very nasty patch of rib pain under my left breast started around my 11 th chemo treatment and still won't quit after I just finished up dec 5.

I cleared 4 chest x rays and a Ct scan and didn't miss a single treatment because that showed I didn't break my ribs but may have bruised them coughing I was told.

I used to be 240 lbs 12 years ago but I am only 125 now and most of my cancer is on left side the same side that hurts, I was worried it was how I was sleeping on it too but I know that is not the case now and more likely a taxol side effect.

I was able to hear an audible click of my 2 ribs followed by intense stabbing pain, and when I go for my skin saving double mastectomy in january I have a good chance of coming home pain free when my surgery is complete!

Palliative care was critical for me to manage the complication and stay on treatment schedule. I was on about 45 mg of morphine a day, extended release was much easier in my stomach and easier to step off of older drugs for me since I have avoided surgery since the birth of my children.

I am so happy to share that I now have full palatable mass reduction and if I make a 98% clearance rate or better in surgery I won't need radiation treatments at all!

I thought it was just me being very optimistic that i could no longer feel any part of my tumors, but 3 doctors jaws hit the floor later and we were all jumping for joy together!!

I wish you all the strength and comfort you need to make it through this, and I hope hearing such a great response for a late stage 3 like me it was honestly better than any of us hoped for but that didn't make it any easier to endure at the time. My biggest tumor was 4.5 cm in my armpit and now it is just the pin feels like a flat bead and not sore.

I remember getting scared of rib pain too shortly after I stopped radiation. It settled a year after but still that area is tender at times.
