ANYONE! Dents in right silicone implant after direct to implant
I'm guessing this has been asked before but can't seem to find a thread. A week ago I had a BMX with silicone direct to implant. I'm overall pleased with the results however as the swelling has decreased I've noticed two indents on the inside of the right implant only. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you remedy and how soon? I know it seems ridiculous to be worried about this given I haven't even got my final pathology yet but I'm guessing this isn't uncommon.
Thanks!

Was the cancer on the right? If so, it is common for the doc to scrape "extra hard" on the cancer side, leaving less tissue behind to cushion and disguise the implant. It is a common issue, and one that I am remedying with fat grafting.
Things will continue to change for you for months. That said, dents rarely, if ever, fill back in on their own.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response VegGal. Ironically the left was the cancer side and that side looks great. Have my post op tomorrow with both the surgeon and plastic surgeon so will address with the PS. Looks like you waited awhile before doing the fat grafting, was that by choice? If you don't mind me asking, what is that process like?

There was a long wait between exchange and the revision. I needed to find a new PS, and then needed to care for my mom at the end of her life. At that point my new PS was booked out so I waited for her to finish her summer vacations. It was worth the wait.
Interestingly, I am going back to the OR on the 19th for another round of fat grafting. It's pretty straight forward: The PS takes fat from one area (thighs and hips for me) and injects in where it's needed up top. I am thin, but she still found fat! I wore a compression garment for 2 days on the donor sites and that was it. Most of the fat stayed, but Lefty still needs some help.
Hope you find some answers at your appt. Just remember that it's more common than not to need some tweaking after exchange.

I am very thin as well so that answered a big question for me! I don't feel like I need much, but definitely will need something. Thanks for the reminder that a one surgery outcome is very unusual. I do feel fortunate that a bit of tweaking is all I need. Good luck with your surgery on the 19th!

Update - in case anyone else has the same question in the future…. what I thought were dents were actually the tubes! Final tube, the one that was giving me a problem came out today and voila my silicone implants look really good. I haven't ruled out fat grafting in the future but for now I'm pleased with the results.
