My health plan for 2018 has no pharmacy benefits until a $4,000 deductible is met. Last year I had a plan that allowed me to get this drug via Express Scripts and my cost was "0" for a 90 day supply. Yesterday I began calling around to compare prices. I called many of the large chain pharmacies and found the price was between $329 and $390. Wow! The last place I called was Sam's Club and I was delighted to find that their price is $12 for a 90 day supply and $4 for a 30 day supply (for Sam's Club Plus Members only). Just wanted to share the good news with all of you in case you find that you are in a similar situation next year. Anastrozole is on Sam's Extra Value Drug List. You can google it.

    I'm on letrozole. My Medicare Part D plan won't pay for branded Femara--and here in Chicago it's $2400 for a 90-day supply. Through CanadaDrugs.com NovartisUK Femara was $588 for 90 days. Having heard horror stories about side effects from the inactive ingredients in some generic versions, I opted for the Femara. I then found that Roxane's (now Westward) generic had the shortest inactive ingredients list, followed by Femara and then by Teva's generic. So for the first year, I was able to get Roxane and then Teva. My pharmacy's benefit manager then switched to Accord, as have most drugstores in the area. I have had very few side effects, which don't seem to have varied by brand. Here's the kicker, though: for the first year I paid $10. This past year it went down below $5. Today I paid $3 (I suspect I've climbed out of the Part D "donut hole," at least for the next 2-1/2 weeks).
